Just asking, but why do they use young flawless models when advertising skin cream

just asking ?

This kind of thing bugs me too, it is the same with diet plans and the like....same flawless models, with the expection being Dove soap adverts who use "real people".

And to add to the theme..........why does hair or eye and general make up adverts  ALWAYS state..."enhanced in post production"?  If the product was flipping decent in the 1st place, you"d not need post production enhancement!

All a huge con if you ask me!..which you didn"t.  ::)

I particularly like the bogus statistics they use to justify the extravagant claims they are making. My current job is related to the Market Research industry (tangentially) and I"ve learned that a sample size of less than 50 is completely useless...and in many cases the base figure should be substantially higher.

Honestly, read them sometimes....

75% agree*

*Survey of 36 women

Really? You found a whole 27 people who agree with the claim that it "helps with signs of aging" did you? I"m impressed! NOT!

Often wondered what the minimum sample size is.  Is there one, that is somewhat legally set?

There has been an increase of 100% in the population of a small village in Ireland.

WOW

- not really 2 people now live there.

sample sizes are pants and obviously abused by marketing people.....

Because its a relaxing day I am cheating on the dinner for this evening

Mince browned in the pan
Chilli Sauce added from a jar currently simmering
Rice from the microwave.
Salad side (from a bag, prewashed and shredded) with Balsamic dressing from a bottle.

Hey its my relaxing day and I is relaxing.

Did you ever wonder how in the hell can the coastline of the British Isles be accurately measured?

Did you ever wonder how clouds can be measured?

Did you ever wonder how the geometry of the lungs can be measured?

When you compress images for your web pages how is the aspect ratio retained?

Well it is all down to Fractal Mathematics and the man who is widely acclaimed to have discovered this was Benoit Mandelbrot who died earlier this week aged 85. A very clever man was our Benoit RIP
