Impressive Ger, what a wonderful heirloom.

Wow, that book was in a case that rattled my memories, I found in it (amongst other things).

My father's birth/death certificate
My Mother's birth/death certificate
My Great Aunt Molly's birth certificate (1879)
My Mother's Fainne Oir
My parent's marriage certificate
Collection of Mass cards
Ould lads driving licence
Land sale documents (we sold land to build the shop)
The ould lads Carta Arachais
The ould lads Union Cards from the Constructional Engineering Union & ITGWU

Priceless, now I am in nostalgia land ....

Someone asked me today what I absolutely hated. I had a long think and eventually I seriously could not answer that. There are lots of things I dislike, but hate, that's too strong a word. The things I dislike I can either ignore, get over or I have no real control over them.

To me it's all about choices. I dislike reality shows, so I choose not to watch them. I dislike being outdrawn, I choose to get over it. I dislike poverty in the world, I have no real control but I have a choice and I choose to, rather than ignore this, I choose to donate to what I feel are worthwhile charities. Does that help the situation, I hope it does in a small way.

Hate can burn you up and take you over. It"s a small word with big repercussions. Some forums bristle with it, vitriol pours from every page, I choose not to frequent those forums. I like to think that this forum will never reach that stage.

Ah Plan B seems to be the order of the day for my trip to DTD for the £300 deepstack.

Just received notification that the game has been pushed back to 5pm, now my plan was to arrive there for the scheduled 2pm start and play it by ear as regards a hotel, if still strong late on I would book in if not I would drive home.

With the 5pm start if I manage to stay in for any length it will probably be very late and driving kinda tired in this weather is not a good idea. Sooooo I have booked a hotel and will check in before going to the club.

Problem is that answers the question about sobriety  ::)

Had a man with a clipboard knock on my door just now. This one was a pleasent surprise though. It was a man from the fire service dispensing advice about fires and then installing two new smoke alrams for me (free). A very nice man and at least my council tax has got me two smoke alarms.

Ok off to DTD now, updates from my phone maybe....
