Four intrepid travellers from Chezger braved the snow and the traffic to arrive at the pub in the midlands to play the BCPC Christmas extravaganza. Now, there were people stuck with the snow but nothing as trivial as that can keep Chezger from fulfilling their fixtures.

Damn glad we did too. BCPC are a great bunch of lads and we had a right laugh. The game was as usual a roller coaster for me, I was all in in the first level  FFS. (well I did have the nuts LOL). Chezger had three on the final table, I was first out at that table when a well timed short stack shove turned into a badly timed short stack shove.

We had a funny SNG while they were battling out the final table and myself and the wee man chopped it heads up. Giving Brian a lift home with his son lying across us in the back seat was epic comedy.

A big thank you to Brain for organising the game and a HUGE thank you to the BCPC for the hospitality and craic.

Good people, great atmosphere, priceless.

Good to see youguys too , hope we can do it again ..APPIE CRIMBO

Ok so two more sleeps until the fat one comes bumbling down the chimney and already people are in panic mode. Will he/she like my present? Have we got enough food in? (everybody never fails to overstock, so don't worry). Will Auntie Ethel give Uncle Bert a black eye for snoring during the Queen's speech? Will Grandpa lose his teeth again?

Well my day is going to look something like this.

Morning.
Leisurely awakening and open of gifts with the Wee man and Marie. Whatever is under the wrappers I will genuinely adore as it is received from people I love.. Some toast and pate washed down with Buck's Fizz as we toast the big fat red bar steward. Get ready and see the two children off to their Mother's.

Afternoon
I have received a very kind invitation to partake in Christmas dinner with a very good friend of mine and his family. As it is on the way Marie and Ger can drop me off as they go to their Mothers. I will be laden with gifts of alcohol and fully expect to have a very pleasant afternoon in the company of friends.

Late evening
I fully expect Marie to tire of the proceedings at her Mothers so I will arrange for her to pick me up on her way back to dropping the car at home before she heads off somewhere else for the night (I do not want to overstay my welcome as Christmas should be for families and people don't genuinely relax when they have company). I will then fire up the TV and spend some quiet time watching some films and if there is crap on, watching DVD's. When I am tired I will retire and wish another Christmas goodbye.

This to me is priceless and perfect...

Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

I"ve eschewed any attempt at Christmas festivities this year (apart from pressies for my young nephew & nieces :)). It"s been several years since the tree & decorations saw the light of day.

If you"re not religious and don"t have kids then I think Christmas is just a commercial exercise. Too many people spending money they can"t afford on things their friends & family don"t want.

I"ve just ordered an Indian takeaway to be microwaved on Saturday for my Christmas dinner - a rare treat ;D. Oh and I"m having Christmas pudding & cream too.

Is it too late to change to XXL Rodders? ;D

I"m pretty much of a "Bah..Humbug" merchant myself.

The fascination with Christmas didn"t last long in the casa de Davis and was only re-kindled on the arrival of my niece and nephew over 25 years ago.

Once again, that didn"t last too many years but we"ve started the cycle again on the arrival of my Grand-Niece this year.

Guess I"ll have to play the jolly old uncle role again until I hit pensionable age.

Merry Christmas to ya sir. Hope you have a good one. I am going to consume some of the black stuff and enjoy my Christmas dinner whilst visiting family.

As for Jacks XXL shirt. I like the curry for Christmas dinner but have you taken Bolton breakfast with Paulie into account yet?

I finish work tomorrow at 6pm after a week of working 12 hour shifts with no day off.

I will be home by 6.15pm, showered and changed by 6.30pm and in the pub by 6.45pm. Drunk by 7.30pm it is then!

Christmas... wake up and open presents with the family about 9am, nurse hangover and curse world til about 12. Crack open another beer or 8. Eat the best meal of the yaer, Christmas dinner :D Fall asleep on sofa. Stumble to bed.

Boxing day, been invited round by a friends family with a few friends for the day, which invariably involves large quantities of Martini being drank, then off round to sisters house for more beers and a bit of family time.

I love the festive season, apart from the work related wrongness.

Hope you and the family have a good one Ger mate.
