I got a phone call from Betfair today.

"Hello Gerard have you a few minutes to speak to me" says Mr Betfair
"Aye, go on" says I
"Would you mind me asking you why you have not been on the site lately" Says Mr Betfair
"No" says I

Now in the following silence, he was digesting my reply, trying to figure out if I had given him tacit approval to ask me, or was I gathering my thoughts before I reply. I kept silent.

"Sir?" enquired Mr Betfair
"Yes" says I
"Oh right, why have you not been on our site lately" says Mr Betfair
"Because you no longer sponsor APAT" says I
"Oh, um, ok, Ah thank you for your time" says Mr Betfair
"You're welcome" says I

So what to do this weekend.. hmm

Saturday
Relax, have a few beers and relax some more

Sunday
Relax, Then I have to help my Sister"s friend to move a large potted plant across the road to her neighbours. After that exertion I will have to relax some more. Crack a few beers and play the League game later.

Might have to take Monday off to recover.......

Had a similar phone call - my reply was that I just happened to be playing elsewhere..... he asked me if I would play at Betfair again if he put $50 in my account. I played the $50 and donked it off sharpish, only to get a call 2 weeks later with the same offer. I donked that $50 in short order as well.

So Jack and Dawn were last heard of sampling the delights of Youghal. Now Youghal is situated in the South East of Cork and in early June is possibly the only place on earth where you have to worry about sunburn and hypothermia at the same time.

I wonder did he get the benefit of a history lesson from an exiled Yank... The ancestral home of Sir Walter Raleigh (Myrtle Grove) still stands there. Tradition has it that here he smoked the first cigarette and planted the first potatoes: but being Ireland, tradition and historians don"t always agree.

Rumour has it they are alive and well...
