So facebook is going to float on the stock market and they reckon the valuation will be around $75bn. Yes that is 75 followed by 9 zeros (adopting the US figure which is now widely used)..
Being a private company, Facebook does not have to publish its accounts, but reports in January last year suggested a document sent by Goldman Sachs to its clients showed the firm made a net profit of $355m on revenues of $1.2bn in the first nine months of 2010.
Whatever you think of the ethos behind the site and its privacy issues, that is a fair bit of dosh for a 7 year old company...
