Portugal in November and Vegas at Christmas.

Was aiming for Vegas in November as usual but with Portugal arriving on the scene and the fact that my good friend Paulie will be in Vegas over Xmas/New year I have opted for Vegas in December.

I would have a problem spending 2 weeks away from work during the festive period. But working on one week, departing 20/12/12 returning 27/12/12. This would seem to be a given (with the option of a further week if I can swing it).

Is this the start of the demise of the Euro, are Ireland bringing the Punt back by the back door. Now I am sure I have some of them old notes from the time I left in 1988. Excuse me for a bit, while I find them and book a trip to Clones....

Bit of a sports day I suppose, Play offs (yawn), Rugby should be a cracking game with Leinster slight favourites. Then it's that other game, now I have no axe to grind either way and I can't really say who I would like to win. They have both done the hard work in the semi-finals and on balance it should be close. Looking at some FB posts it would seem opposition supporting is the name of the game  8)

As an experienced winner do you have any advice on how I should invest my £3?

£3... around $5?....

Hmmm I"d probably plan ahead, and get a video message done to anyone who turns up at my funeral from me via

"Say it with ease, with the girl dressed as peas"

Ending with a big thumbs up. Everyone appreciates dancing peas at a funeral.

So last night was fun at the tables when in the PLO the flop came 235 with me holding A4xx. The betting then screamed at me that JP could only have 46 but my tiny brain refused to hit the fold button. My mistake and with no outs, a stupid play. But never mind move on LOL.

I bubbled the money in the NLHE when as shorty on the final table I shoved my 99 only to run into JJ however as always it was good craic with good people.

Congratulations to the winners and medalists of both disciplines.

Now you lot may know that I have a wedding to attend to next Saturday. It is a very good friend of mine and occasional APATer so it is not to be missed. You also may have guessed that it clashes with the Welsh National which is disappointing. I love meeting up and having the craic, but the wedding on Saturday is a must.

However I have a plan hatching in the deep recesses of my befuddled brain.....
