Exactly 18 years ago, on 18 June 1994, Ireland beat Italy for the first time in our history courtesy of Ray Houghton.

We have lost to Italy only once in four meetings since then and victory will see us finish above Italy in the group.

My 12/1 bet is safe  ;D

It seems that UEFA values showing of a sponsors underpants and letting off fireworks as a bigger wrong doing than racism....

I doubt it"s any consolation but.. Would of been pretty awesome for the bet to come good, Esp as I have a gripe with the way Italy play.. Perhaps you should put a saver bet on England tonight.. Bet on them to win, they win your happy they lose your happy  ;)

Some things make you happy, some things make you sad, some things disappoint you and some things just make you wonder. But now and again something comes along that makes you proud and happy and humble. That event has happened, I have been honoured to be selected in The Republic of Ireland team for the ECOAP.

I am a very lucky man and this is utterly priceless.......

13 hour days are the norm at the moment, back to normal next Monday I hope. Normal is subjective of course.

Let me elaborate on the luck.

Hand in the level before the end of the rebuy (£6 for 6,000 chips - you can buy when you hit 4k). I have 8k at 300/600 and find UTG

Kd Kh I raise to 2100 Anne - (any A Annie) calls as does Les.

Flop  Ks Js 7s hmmm it"s a rebuy and I am first to act so I shoves (as you do) Anne Calls (oops obv flush) Les folds

Anne shows  10s  4s (it is the aquarium)

Turn  8h

River  Jc

And as the story goes I never looked back.
