Following on from my triumph last night at the aquarium I will once again unlimber the fishing rod and attend again tonight. It just has to be done......

Some things make you happy, some things make you sad, some things disappoint you and some things just make you wonder. But now and again something comes along that makes you proud and happy and humble. That event has happened, I have been honoured to be selected in The Republic of Ireland team for the ECOAP.

I am a very lucky man and this is utterly priceless.......

Many congratulations on this Ger - I have no doubt you will do Ireland proud as you tend to bring out your best game for these events.

Last night at the aquarium was the usual roller coaster. My AA got cracked by 66, re-entry, my tilted KQss was battered by J9, re-entry. Settled down a wee bit after the re-entry period and built up a few chips to make the final table. When 4 handed I shoved with 44 on the SB and the big blind naturally called with A6cc for over half his stack and rivered the obligatory club to complete his flush. If I had won that I would have been chip leader but that's the way it rolls. So 4th and a wee cash that did not quite cover my re-entries, but as usual it was funny with the usual arguments, fallouts and side splitting excuses for every call.

Fecking priceless....

Oh well, there was a famous strap line in the Hulk movie, "Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I am angry".

History has repeated itself when, responding to less than flattering press coverage after their last meeting, the All Blacks not only stepped up to the plate, they picked it up and smashed it into pieces. Record win 60-0, 9 tries, no Dan Carter, new boy Cruden looked good and even when he went off the third string out half was good enough.

It will be a long flight home and I can see a spate of retirements after this. When your forwards get smashed it doesn't matter how good your backs are....

The gulf between North & South isn't insurmountable but it is still a gulf..

The topic of conversation around these parts is, quite naturally, almost exclusively about football. It is in every sentence from every mouth. So how do you tell the person that is so fervently talking as if they are the expert, that you couldn't give a feck. Talk about a controversial decision and most people might have an opinion. Mention whether Steven Gerrard is a good player and a lot of people couldn't care less.

Personally, I try to move the conversation onto less controversial subjects like Politics & Religion.

8 Straight 5am starts over.

Tomorrow back to the normal 9am start, therefore the fridge will be getting a hammering as I play the BHF charity game on Stan james. I know a lot of people do full weeks with early starts and I have the greatest respect for these people. It is not for me however as I was knackered every morning. It"s an age thing  ;D

Only a couple of weeks until Cork - I am so looking forward to this....
