I only caught up on APAT earlier today and saw that so replied

Sighhhhhhhhhh...the man doesn"t even remember his own posts.  Here ya go ya eejit...

Breaking News:

In a secret hideaway somewhere in central London three disgruntled gardeners have gathered in an emergency summit. Alan Titchmarsh, Diarmuid Gavin & Monty Don were spotted arriving under close security to the venue. The reason for this clandestine meeting soon became clear when they were surrounded by reporters on leaving.

Alan Titchmarsh politely said that if the occupants of Jaxie Towers did not desist trying to upstage Kew Gardens he would have to take stern action.

Monty Don was more forthcoming hinting at guerrilla tactics to prevent the Jaxie garden from growing any bigger.

Diarmuid Gavin was quoted as saying "If those two feckers think they can upstage the professionals then they have a surprise coming. We will not fecking stand for the blatant en-fecking-croachment on our fecking business. For fecks sake where will it stop, rose bushes in the front, trees at the back. We have contacted Archie and enlisted his help, napalm is not out of the question"

On another totally unrelated point.

The PCS union has threatened to Strike on the eve of the games (Border control/Home office workers). The union states that 57.2% voted for a strike. Majority and all that. Now only 20% of the total membership bothered to vote which by my reckoning made the percentage of workers that want to strike (assuming the ones that did not vote do not) a whopping 12.7% of the total membership.

And that Ger is why the country is in the position it is now. If the PCS don"t want to strike then if all the members who are against strike action actually voted then things would be different. If you are in a Union then it should be compulsory to vote, the same as everybody over the age of 18 should have to cast their vote.

I don"t think that"s a bad idea but I think there would have to be some tightening about how Union"s gain members.

I know when I did a teacher training course it was basically presented as a fait accompli that you would join one of the unions when you qualified - it really wasn"t presented in a way that suggested you had much of a choice.

And I have heard anecdotally that a lot of people end up in unions that way - it"s just the expected thing for where they work and they don"t want to rock the boat.

Chopped the aquarium last night.  :o

It was its usual rowdy, fishy, spewy game. I got a bit of luck early on (countered by an opposite effect later) which will always happen in that place. But hey Profit is profit. I have always said it is what it is and any people thinking of joining us on the Friday before the Chezger Home game had better leave their sensible heads at home.

Ok its done. I have been contemplating a return to Vegas this year and when I heard that the legend that is Paulie was going for a whopping 3 weeks over Christmas I could not resist.

Virgin from manc on 20th December 2012 staying at Harrahs for 7 nights. OK OK I am a lightweight but I mean to pack a lot in those 7 days with the Travel Guru and Nominated Scribe.

I"m probably going to be taking it a little easier this time...it"s a long trip after all and I have to pace myself.

Not that we won"t find some interesting things to do over that week.

I already have an invite to the studios of the Vegas Video Network to attend a taping which could be fun.

Insofar as this is an "old folks" trip (unless we get some other attendees) I can"t see we"ll be hitting the clubs but some off-strip activities (of the food & drink variety) might be in order.

I have some friends on facebook (stop it) who delight in posting all their energetic exploits. A few examples from today.

BIG hike today. Climbed 4 peaks straight out of Ambleside. Climbed Low Pike(508m), High Pike(656m), Dove Crag(792m) and Little Hart Crag(637m). Low cloud and blowing a gale on the ridge tops but still great fun!

Fun? Really

What a bloody brilliant day. 3 runs done at Llandegla ....Awesome!

Really

Ben Nevis and Scarfell Pyke done, now on way to Snowdon! Should just make it in 24 hours! Body is in pain but we are all hanging on!!

Really

I"m also doing Crib Goch this summer if anyone is interested. This is NOT for the faint hearted, you must be fit and be able to climb

Seriously!!

Me I spent my Sunday in the Aquarium, had a roast dinner there, a few pints and I cashed. I think I got the better deal

Very tired today (lots of out of hours calls) so I knocked off at 2pm.

Run good or what M56 stuffed with an overturned lorry carrying Aluminium Sulphate. Total closure. This means the backup is to the end of the M56 which would prevent me getting home. Also the side roads around my house are gridlocked as well as drivers attempt to avoid the motorway.

Me I am in the garden with a beer.

Keith (Aquarium/Chezger member) is on the way to the airport... Well he was -- he posted this on FB
