Now is the time of year when thoughts turn to holidays. No news on S4 has curtailed this a bit as I missed the European gig last year and don"t want to miss any APAT events if I can help it. Me and the wee man are going to France for a week or so in July/Aug, nice villa with a pool near a village, got the target spotted just not firmed the dates yet.

Vegas is a given but the date can be flexible (APAT up the pecking order so hurry up with the dates  ;D ). Anyone else got plans for Vegas this year? (Unless Des has grandeous idea"s for an International leg of the tour  ;D ).

Maybe we could coordinate a visit with a few of us this year?

OMG just OMG what have kids toys come to FFS - lack of TV entertainment had me watching the kids channel just now (regression FTW) and this advert came on.

"Alien Birth pods, The alien invasion begins!  These yucky, wobbly, sticky aliens have been transported to earth in their very own egg-shaped pods.  Heavily pregnant and some what tired of the swollen ankles and mood swings, these Birth Aliens need your help.  Delve into the back of the alien by squeezing its belly to help release the 3 baby aliens!"

It"s just so wrong on so many levels.......

googled it and WTF

1. Take the Mother Alien out of the Shell
2. Grasp both hands around the Mother Alien"s body
3. Massage gently to widen the birth opening at the back
4.  Caution is needed on the final part of the Alien Baby"s journey
5.  Remove the Alien Baby gently keep it warm and safe in the Alien Birthpod!

I need a drink !

Good day for France. With home advantage, I think they are likely to push Ireland into 2nd place this year, though the top two places could well be reversed next year when Ireland are at home. Then roll on the World Cup.

One of the problems we did not confront successfully was how to generate more speed in the game. Almost any ball released from the breakdown was painfully slow. The opposition could rearrange their defense, read a couple of chapters of War and Peace, have a cup of tea and sing the first act of La Traviata before we released the fecking ball.

must do better

So Ireland have drawn a few ia"s in the 2012 Euro"s (Russia, Slovakia, Macedonia, Armenia and Andorria). Not withstanding handballs etc not too bad. England drew Wales and Scotland seem to have got the short end of the stick in a tough group.

Watching Scotland V France and have got to wondering, is the "let"s try a fancy pass in the tackle" method of Rugby enshrined in the minds of all the Northern Hemisphere teams. FFS the laws of the game so protect the team in possession its negative to lose it with a spectacular play - nice to watch but as Wales found yesterday not good for the final result.

I know that Scotland have opted for mobile props this time out. But the French pack is looking awesome, however as usual the French backs look suspect, so mabye the Scottish gamble might pay off if they keep the game expansive while in possession.

andorria....journalistic licence is that!..quality.

If you don"t count Andorria...31% of the 51 teams end with ia.   Question is Why?

So Johnny Dankworth has shrugged off his mortal coil, may he rest in peace. When I heard this my mind went to the Jazz side of his life, but he also wrote numerous TV theme tunes. I thought about why these trite, inane theme tunes stick in our heads and even invade our lives with ringtone repeats. Johnny wrote the theme music to the Avengers and Tomorrow's world.

Why do they stick in our heads, is it because we relate to it as we watched numerous episodes,  Only Fools & horses etc etc. Henry Mancini for the Pink Panther even Ski Sunday.

What sticks in your mind?
