Well we landed in Ireland after the boat trip from hell. It was the wee Stena Express and if the sea had a swell of greater than 1 inch you would get the corkscrew motion. Wee man lost his breakfast as did approx most of the children on the boat. I managed to keep mine down.

We arrived at the relations and had a great night nattering and remembering, I would go out to smoke and looking up at the sky with no light pollution was fantastic. Today we are on tour going to show Caroline parts of Clare she has never seen, and tonight is the big one. Cousins from far and near are descending and it should be a good night.

One small problem, there is a service in the graveyard at 6am tomorrow morning and of course we have agreed to attend. Should be like old times, attending Mass with a hangover.

Just before retiring last night Niall (my cousin and host) and myself were clearing up the bottles etc and I said right I"ll lock up.

He looked at me as if I had two heads.

LOL priceless and a rural way of life sorely missed

Visited the graveyard where our grandparents & parents are buried today. Lost in a bit of nostalgia and Noreen mused as to whether these places were "alive" with souls and suchlike. At that very minute my mobile rang.

I damn near shiite myself

The trip around the west coast was lovely yesterday. We climbed the Cliffs Of Moher and had a lovely lunch in O'Connor's of Doolin. On the way back we called into some relations and that equals food & drink. Caroline drove from then on.

We were then invited over to Karl's house for the night where a spread was laid out. So, more food than you could shake a stick at, enough drink to sink a battleship and the greatest amount of craic. It has been a wonderful three days and something that will not be put off for so long again.

Trip back today then, our original boat has been cancelled and we are swapped over to the bigger slower boat. Dinners will be lost I reckon.

Doesn"t it annoy you when you are right and still get battered.

The wee man was on the BB with KQ -- button has been raising, so the wee man says

"He"s at it"

He re raises

Button goes all in.

Wee Man says "He is at it" and calls

Button turns over Q4

obv 4 comes out and wee man is left with dirt.

No amount of "You were right" makes up for it.

He will try again tonight to get in to the 5k added at DTD on Saturday

ps - he borrowed 50p off me for the tin  ;D

Am I being naive in believing that the function of the newspapers was to inform people about social, political, cultural, ethical and economic issues of the upcoming election, so that people can vote in an informed manner?

I thought that journalism was a profession rather than just a trade and therefore that journalists and their employers must not allow profit considerations to dominate, but must acknowledge an ethical duty to report the news accurately, soberly, and without bias.

Reading the muck in the papers over the last couple of days, I have come to the conclusion that Santa Claus also exists and that the Big Green Giant is in charge of editorial coverage.

I will vote in the upcoming election, as I feel it's a privilege that should not be ignored. But who the feck shall I vote for, they will all shaft me whatever I do.

Convincing arguments please..........

Right off to DTD tomorrow as I luckboxed a sat to the super 50 +5k added a while ago. Stories will inevitably follow.

So in preparation for this I am off into Chester tonight in order to consume a huge amount of beer. Will tell you all about it whenever I surface.

I live in Handbridge.

Olly Murs is a talentless hack from a reality TV show (x-factor or some shiite like that) who is making an appearance at Cruise nightclub tonight. Naturally, my FB is going mental from the "ladies" (read: chavettes).

Oh, I liked the "Harkers is ****" text I got ;)
