I only played the ME, so that"s the only thing I can comment on. Overall, I thought the tournament was well run and, more to the point, lots of fun
With regards to the structure, and it"s a small point, I felt the antes were often a bit steep in comparison to the blinds (i.e. more than 1/10th of bb).
Also, it seemed like quite a shame that when we hit the final table the average stack was around 13bbs, making it a bit of a "pick a spot to shove" fest. Poker is best from all perspectives, imo, when played down the streets, with battles of wits and nerve (or maybe it"s just me that gets off on that stuff!). Without taking anything from anyone who finalled, as it"s a long grind to get there, from my own personal POV, I couldn"t tell you who played particularly well or otherwise at the final because we just didn"t get the chance to see it. The only reason I finished 6th rather than 7th, 8th or 9th was because the guys that finished in those positions found hands to shove and/or call with before me, so I got lucky by laddering. That said, everyone was in the same boat, so it was a level playing field, and I"m not sure what can be done, if anything, to try to overcome this for future events.
As I said, overall was a fun tournament, and, after a long time away, I think I may have rediscovered my love for the game, and hope to make it to more APATs this year
