Dewi guinness count =9

Derek Liddle from Glasgow ran KK into AA on a Queen high flop 5 minutes into the tournament

He lost half his stack, but did well to get off his hand on the river.

Simon Rivers from Leeds had the Aces

Simon says "I was unlucky not to double through"

"Pints A Plenty" Dewi apparently took down the pre APAT scalps tournament last night at the Fitzwilliam, for the second year running.  He scooped around 2.5k euros we believe!

Incredibly there were no exits during the first two levels so several potential alternates have been left disappointed.

Updating at the Fitz is quite a task. the comp is held over 3 rooms on three levels. there is also a manual seat draw so no player list! So its a case of being in the right place at the right time to report or, more likely, being on the stairs on the way to report and missing the action!

My initial wanderings ascertained the following

Chip leader is Chris Filus..Foggy...with 23,000

going well Alan Armitage, Stuart Langford, Jon Woodfield and Dewi James all 13-15,000

Danile Phillips is down to just over 5,000

James Eccles had AQ on a board of AQ7. Happy days you would think

but after a 6 6 turn and river he lost to his opponents QQ and is now nursing a short-stack..1,200

Caroline Burgess is OUT. I looked at her, She looked at me.

"Bad?" I enquired

"very" she grimaced

and I left it at that as she faced the unprecedented prospect of railing Ian rather than vice versa

So Eck is in the bb with 1,200

there are six limpers

board K 5 5 4

the sb bets 300

Ecks pushes his 1200 in

SB shows K9

Eck resignedly shows K6

River 6

Eck now back over 3,000

Jack is still in. Taciturn as ever, a brooding presence at a table including Bainn, who is jabbering away in a masterclass of speechplay and LAG poker.

that line cost him £20
