New to APT
« on: June 16, 2008, 14:04:24 PM »
Hey All ,

Just registered with APT and wanted to say "Hi".

Been playin a Poker bout a year and a half and it has now taken over my life !!.

Playin for 5-6hrs weekday nights and probably 12-16 hrs most weekend days.

Girlfriends become a "Poker Widow" lol.

Anyways , I have been winning far more than I"ve been losing and after starting out in the Freerolls and cheap SNG"s have elevated to $5 single table games.

Again I am winning the majority of the games I play (or at least placing) and now am thinking of playing a few "Live Tournaments".

I have only played live twice, both 30 player SNGs at Grovsner Casino winning one and finishing 4th in the other.

What I would like to ask is if anyone believes that making the move from online playing to live games with my little experience is going to benefit my game enough to warrant the bigger buy-ins in the live tournemants opposed to the smaller but more frequent online games ??

ANY advice greatly appreciated.

Good luck on the Felt

Hey Everyone,

Thank you all for your replies.

Nice to be welcomed so nicely !!.

Thanks for the belief !!.

Think I"ll sit a few more small tourneys at the casino or possibly join a League (Anyone in one ??, prizes etc??)

I must admit tho after seeing the World Amatuer Champ and UK Forum Champ over the next few months and the buy-ins only £50-£75 I may be tempted to dip my toe in there !!!!.

Has anyone been to one or is anyone going ??

Again , many thanks for the responses and look forward to ya posts.

Good luck at the Felt

The APAT also runs regional live games for £20 with a decent structure, the trouble is that they have finish for this season so you would have to wait for season 3. But if you cannot wait till then try the national event but these seats go fast.

 Morning All ,

Thanks Nosey-P for tabhe heads up on the "Regionals" , sound interesting.

Mal666 - I play under the name NorthSouthPower on Bodog,Fulltilt and Mansion.

CHall1978 on Pokerstars.

Must admit dont have much joy on Pokerstars, never seem to have that little bit
of luck we all sometimes need , especially on Show-downs.

As for my Casino visits , tends to be at my local one (Huddersfield), field not that good to be honest (can I say that without seeming up my own.........) or Leeds
which tends to have more experienced players.

With regards to the speed the Tickets for the national Tournaments could anyone suggest the best place to secure them and when they go on sale ??.

Looking forward to throwing myself into the madess that will undoubtebly ensue at the APT Events !!!.

Thanks for the info all.

haha huddersfield is my local too and you are dead right the standard is rubbish,if you go to leeds try the gala i find its the best game although start times are a bit late and the breaks are too long.
the last time i was there was the 50£ freezeout(before schedule changed)it was a friday night game started at 8.45 toooo late, there was a 30min tooooooo long break about 2 hours in, then when we got to final table there was another break about 30 mins(toooo long)then we get down to 3 handed at about 2.45am, we play for another 15minutes and the dealer says "last 3 hands" im like your ****ing joking man he says no we shut at 3.30. so that was it allin 3 hands in a row to get busted on the last 1 for 3rd.
