APAT UK TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS - TEAM APAT APPLICATION THREAD
« on: August 09, 2014, 08:54:33 AM »
APAT UK Team Championship

Where: G Casino Manchester
When:  Saturday 29 and Sunday 30th November
Cost:  £55 buy in per person + approx £15 for treasured APAT team polo
.

I"m delighted to have been asked to captain team APAT for this event and this post will give details on how to apply.

I"m aware that the APAT community welcomes new players constantly, so for those of you who don"t know me I"m Glenn Laming and I"ve been a longstanding supporter of APAT events. I played the very first APAT live competition and my Hendon Mob shows 6 cashes in APAT main events with 3 final tables.

For this event we need a team of 8 players. I"m determined to select a competitive team but it is equally important to me to try to uphold what I see as core APAT values. This means playing the game in the right spirit, rooting for your team mates and being proud of representing APAT. In terms of putting your name forward, drop me a pm and if I don"t know you let me have a few details including your real name! I"ll acknowlegde your application by return pm.

I want to stress that I am starting completely from scratch and have not filled any of the other 7 places yet. Many regulars for APAT teams in previous years are playing for other teams so if you"d like to play please drop me a line. I"m not going to set any hard and fast rules about the make up of the team, it would be nice to include new players to give them a chance to experience what is a great event, but let"s wait and see what happens with applications.

In terms of timescale, I"ll initially keep the application window open until Wednesday 20 August and I would expect to confirm the team shortly after that to allow time for hotel bookings etc. I"ll keep you all informed with progress and if you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I"ll check in regularly.

This is an APAT hosted event and we are the APAT team, so in football terms we"ll be playing at home and I"ll aim to put in place a team that will do us justice. So come on people, dust off the card protecter and sunglasses and get those applications in!!!

Thanks for applications received so far. Still plenty of time to put your name forward. Would be nice to add some new faces to the team so if you"ve not played this event before and want to represent team APAT drop me a pm. APAT is all about helping amateur players experience great structured events, and this team comp is always one of the years highlights.

Reminder that applications close on 20 August so plenty of time yet.

Thanks for all the applications and I will now be finalising the team over the next 24 hours. The team announcement will be made on Friday evening on this forum. The worst part of captaincy is that I can"t pick everyone, but I"m sure we will have a team to be proud of.

Thanks again to all who applied.
