Pre forum fish fest
« on: July 02, 2008, 10:02:02 AM »
In anticipation of the forum challenge there will be a home game at Chezger on the Friday before. Now I know that this might not be the perfect preparation for this event, but hey who gives a toss. It promises to be a tempestuous affair with some very successful players and some outright fish. At the moment we have some 18 players who have registered for this.

The webcam will be in action (test run tonight for the regular weekly home game) and added value of a few bounties should liven up the event. I will also be  running a book on the proceedings, odds to be posted at a later date. There will also be a "last shorter" bet as a consolation for the first person out (value or what).

There will be two tables for the main event, and when that breaks to one table, cash games will no doubt start up.

Players for this fish fest are

Duke
Chairman of Chezger and all round advertisement for sobriety

Shogun
Chezger founder member, table builder and all round handyman

Silo
Purveyor of trophies and the last man to see Elvis in the chip shop

Digger
Follically challenged Riley's professional, last seen dancing outside Rosie's to the tune of "Can you hear the drums Fernando"

kinboshi
Chief fish and serial poster on, at last count,  at least 600 forums.

Dan 35oz
Fresh from his success in Vegas,DTD,G casino,Patsy's strip club and various other educational establishments

Newportlad
Last seen in Dublin dancing with a one armed Lady of the night, clutching a trophy, shouting at a few bouncers "Cmon if you think you are hard enough"

Dewi
Welsh speaking hero to all poker players, and living proof that you do not require internal organs in order to survive

Dafydd
Bean counter who thinks pot odds are the chances of getting a spliff at a nightclub in Rhyl

Jack
Living advertisement for EasyJet and largest shareholder in John Smith's brewery

Adam
Pokers answer to Chuck Norris (cmon stretch the imagination)

Bond4pm
Owner of most of the dummies in the corner of Chezger poker room

RichEO
Only man to not have to get a hotel room in Vegas for the whole of his 4 week stay, on account of the fact he never left the tables

D80 (Danny)
Bank of America's most feared enforcer (don't miss a credit card payment FFS)

Adrian
Local fish and the Shell clubs leading bad beat specialist

Wayne
Tanker driver with a penchant for outdrawing all and sundry

Mondatoo
Who ?  ;D ;D ;D

Sherriff
Has beaten anorexia and is wanted on both sides of the border for stealing pots.

Life is good, it will be a blast, good people, great craic ------ priceless.

Given that, at the game, we have 3 "live" APAT National Champions, Various APAT medallists and numerous donkfest winners, will it be possible for me to win this one ,

Well, when any principle, law, tenet, probability, happening, circumstance, or result can in no way be directly, indirectly, empirically, or circuitously proven, derived, implied, inferred, induced, deducted, estimated, or scientifically guessed, it will always for the purpose of convenience, expediency, political advantage, material gain, or personal comfort, or any combination of the above, or none of the above,
be unilaterally and unequivocally assumed, proclaimed, and adhered to as absolute truth to be undeniably, universally, immutably, and infinitely so, until such time as it becomes advantageous to assume otherwise, maybe.

Saturday 12/7/2008 -- Forum game countdown

Went to Manchester last night to play in the £30 Double chance FO at the riverside -- AA doesn"t beat AK so went over to the G to see RichEO after his marathon in Vegas. He looks well and was owning his cash table. I played a little cash and lost a lot of money (That"s why i"m 125/1 for the forum challenge) - never mind had a ball.

Anyway I will do a daily lead up to the forum challenge (Chezger are second fav FFS) including news on the pre-forum home game.

We have 17 runners now for the pre-forum and could squeeze in a couple more if required. The table draw has been made http://www.chezger.co.uk/html/table_draw.html and with the mix of APAT national champs and medal winners it should be a good night. Live updates will be provided by son of duke on the Chezger forum and should be interesting.

Early favourite for this must be Darren (Newportlad) fresh from his triumph in Dublin, RichEO will do well if he stays awake (he fell asleep at the table last night), uber agressive Dewi could do a lot of damage and Shogun is due a change in fortune and this could be it.

Anyway today is tidy up day at Chezger with a skip on the drive so a bit of mnual labour is required (that"s what son"s are for)

As mentioned before if you are in the area railers are welcome for the home game otherwise it will be on the webcam http://www.chezger.co.uk/html/webcam.html (if my ISP gets off their collective arses and fixes my connection problem).

Lead up to the weekend are Llyr"s cricket club special on Monday - Chezger home game Wednesday (I have to go to birmingham Thursday morning at 6am so I will be sober -- watch out fellow players)

Sunday 13/7/2008 -- Forum game countdown

Uneventful day yesterday on account of the fact that my internet provider is playing silly buggers. I changed ISP about three weeks ago to Bethere and have nothing but trouble since. Numerous phone calls to support have been frustrating to say the least.

They must have a script they work on because if I am asked once more to change my dsl cable, remove all but the modem from the wall socket, put the lead into the BT test socket and change my filter, I will freak.

Now they say they have asked BT to change the tie cables at the exchange, WTF does that mean ???

Anyway because of this I had to do something different to my normal weekend of constant on-line poker, and you know what I really enjoyed the weekend, chilling out and doing things with Son Of Duke (he's usually stuck on the X-box and MSN all weekend). Even when the connection is back I must spend more time like that.

The second table is ready and about to be set up and Friday night should be a really good night. I am resisting the temptation to fill the beer fridge as it might be depleted come Friday.

I understand that there is a huge contingent of poker players from numerous Fora staying at the Carousel in Blackpool. Do they know what they are in for.

Anyway tonight is the poker game in the St Asaph cricket club to play Llyr's weekly game should be fun. Report tomorrow.
