Life is really cruel sometimes as she has been going thorugh some very hard times with little Reece for a while now and now this ....

The problem is Duke that these are pack animals who will run like the wind unless they have at least a 4 to 1 advantage. I have followed the thread on blonde and really feel for her, life can be so very unkind.
She should take some comfort form knowing her hubby and his dad are good sorts who done the right thing. I"ve been in a similar situation and also came off second best, but at least I can look at myself in the mirror, I"m not sure I could if I"d done nothing.

My sympathy goes out to those involved in this situation.

I have never been in a similar position, and it is difficult to know how you might react. I hear of so many incidents of people getting injured or worse by getting involved.

Just as I admire anyone for taking a stand I dont think there is any shame in standing down. At the end of the day the thugs can take my car or wallet, these things can be replaced.

If anyone deserves a bit of luck in their lives it"s Mo and Darren.  Lovely people and I really feel for them.  Also I"d love to get hold of the scum who did that to Darren and his dad.

I spoke to Maureen last night, and she"s battling on.

Little Reece is in good form apparently, and might be well enough to come home for a bit this weekend.  Darren needs to have more scans on his ankle to determine if it needs to be pinned or not, and of top of that he can"t get around on crutches because his broken ribs are too painful.

For those that don"t know, Maureen should be playing in Blackpool for the blonde team - but she"s not sure if she can make it yet.  I think she"d love the weekend away to get a break from everything, but of course that"s dependent on her dependants.

I"ll pass on the best wishes from APATers next time I speak to her.

omg its a small world,i just realised the maureen in this thread is the same maureen that destroyed me in my first ever live casino game.it was grosvenor huddersfield and 4 were getting paid there were 5 of us left me,mo,her husband darren ,the local poker pro and some random guy that i cant remeber. mo was in the seat to my right and sensed my nervousness even giving me the odd pointer as we went on. but ultimately she relentlessly hammered my blinds while i was thinking this really nice woman is having a massive rush of cards.it took me until the next day to realise exactly what had occured lol.my pants had been well and truly removed and i had been shafted,but what a lesson it was.
after this we all became poker buddys and daz n mo even took me over to leeds to the gala to broaden my horizons.i am truly thankfull to both of them and wish all the familly well at this difficult time.
if you are reading this maureen i hope you get over to blackpool for the team game as i know how happy you are at the poker table.
