with so much going on and being said i may have missed this

are APAT allowing alternates into nationl championships again this year?

I see no reason why not.  The only reason they weren"t allowed in Season 1 is that they were illegal in the UK.  The new law that came in (I think it was September 2007) allowed alternates in UK poker tournaments.  As soon as they were allowed, APAT allowed them.  The same law also means you don"t have to be at your seat at the start of a tournament - something that again APAT has allowed as soon as the legislation made it possible.

Yes, alternates will be allowed in for the first two levels.

Is the date and venue for the Welsh Championship finalised yet?

Or is it still TBC?

I can confirm it will probably be at the Grosvenor in Cardiff.

Just getting ready to requote until both date and venue are confirmed for sure.

If you had another PC, the two-accounts-in-one-house problem can be got around by contacting Customer Support. I know Mair and Stan can play OK.

Thank you for your help but unfortunatley we only have one computer capable of running the software.

I have to say that I am a little dissapointed with season 3.  Since joining APAT mid way through season 1 I have really enjoyed taking part in the live regional qualifiers, and so am saddened to find that they will now only take place online.  As I am one half of a poker playing couple, in a one computer household one of us is always going to miss out on playing the online events.

It seems that this season is not very "couples friendly" and unfortunately our participation in the APAT events will be greatly reduced this seasons because of this. :(

Hi Rachel,

Regionals; in a slightly different format, were very much part of APAT's proposal to Blue Square for Season Three, but unfortunately due to the current economic climate, budgets were cut back and something had to give.  As a result the Regionals have been rested for a year.  APAT very much hope to bring them back next year.  Lee and yourself should be able to get into the Nationals via the clickfest if the Online events are going to be troublesome, particularly as all of the seats that were typically given to Regional events will now be sold instead.  That said, take a look at Mair"s email above and contact Blue Square if this appeals.

Regards,

Des.

Hi Des,

Many thanks for your reply, clickfests here we come! However this is not as appealing as trying to qualify on the cheap! :)

Don"t forget that there are three days of satellites Mon, Tue, Wed before the Thursday clickfest.  So you will get a few chances to get in cheap.

Good Luck guys.  Hope to see you at some of the events in the year.

It"s actually cheaper now.  Fewer qualifiers to fail in before the clickfest.
