Dann Williams - 2015 Online Roll
« on: November 17, 2014, 01:29:45 AM »
Hey Guys,

Im sure everyone that frequents here, knows who i am (or at least has had to listen to me at a table or two!) but i shall do the necessaries.

My name is Dann Williams. :)

Ive had my "breakout" moment in 2014, winning the Titan for just shy of 6k, of which i funded an awesome Vegas trip and have been playing poker for a few years now, and feel i have a solid grip of the game albeit known for my tendencies of FPS now and again.

Life has thrown me a few curveballs but i am lucky now to be in a position in which i am able to focus on poker alot more in 2015 than before.  My long term GF has left me, and instead of wallow in self pity, i would like to use the free time now to actually give myself a good chance at making some decent money in the game of poker in 2015.

I am in talks with a coach that my friend uses, which i shall be purchasing a ongoing poker coaching from for 2015 to help fix the leaks in my game and move forward.  My friend has used him for the last few months and has gonna from a winning social player, to having a huge year.  I shall be funding this myself, and thats kind of the reason for my post here.

I am also lucky enough to have a great group of poker friends that i can lend knowledge from, you all know most of them as they play the APAT circuit with me, Dave Howard, Mike Perry, Dwayne and Chris Webber to name a few.

I am looking for a 2015 bankroll, starting at a minimum of $2000, and shall be selling the roll in shares of $100 (20 shares total mimimum) obviously if there is lots of interest then the starting roll shall be larger.

In regards to payouts for investors, i suggest the following setup.

Roll $2000 to $5000, no payouts.
Roll $5000+, payouts monthly keeping roll at $5000

Games allowed during stake
Roll under $2k - Games up to, and including, $27 f/o, $8 rebuys - ave buyin ~$15
Roll under $4k - Games up to, and including, $44 f/o, $11 rebuys - ave buyin ~$30
Roll over $4k - Games up to, and including, $55 f/o, $22 cubed - ave buyin ~$40

I am also allowed to play small sats for larger events, $109 f/os, Sunday Majors etc, but can only be played if sattied into, and i will also add MTTSngs to bolster the schedule.

This may get no interest, or some may just want a punt, but i am serious as making 2015 a serious year on the felt.

Sites the roll will be spread over will be Mainly Pokerstars, Full Tilt and possibly a small amount on soft euro sites (Sky for example)

Anyway, thanks for reading, this shall be cross posted on GNF as well, and i wish us all the best in 2015.

Respect to the willingness of Tom and Myles in supporting this, but isn"t it missing one vital piece of information ?

What"s the split ?

Also, not convinced name dropping Dave and Chris is +ev for your proposal  ;)

Hey Leigh.

The split is per share. So I shall be having shares of my own. There is not mark up/stake back

If I have 10 shares of 20 sold them I have 50% etc

That makes sense, which leads on to my next question then.

How many shares are you planning on having yourself ?

Between 5-8 at the mo...I would normally have minimum half, but I think spending the extra on the coaching is +EV for anyone that has a piece

Im trying to write something here without coming across as a c**k but it aint working lol. Basically i could be interested in 1 or 2 shares but think its important you hold 50% of yourself in this kind of deal. Can talk more about it in Manc if you like? Putting things down in writing isn"t my strong point

Goddammit Leigh, leaving Perry off that list is only going to fuel the beast.

Also Dann, what"s the late Staker entry, exit and (hopefully not) reload strategy? I presume you"ll adjust the %s accordingly?

Do you plan on playing any games "off stake" on the same accounts?

Any volume plans? Think the buy in limits are a little agg

Good luck with this Dann, maybe interested, a couple of questions sorry if they repeat what others have already said but I just want to ensure I have a full understanding of what I might be buying into.

1. What tournaments are you targeting. It seems that the buying levels are a bit high for the proposed bankroll, with an average of about 150 buyins at each level, if we are talking about the large fields on a site like Pokerstars being the main tournaments. 100 Buyin downswing"s are an every day occurrence in these. What happens if the roll drops below $1000 for example? Are we saying that you would still be including $27 f/o at that point. If so, that"s fine, but as Dave said we need to know the reload strategy if that is the case.

2. What is the expected weekly volume and what would a typical schedule be? Don"t need to be exact here but are there any games you would be trying to play each week? How many tables will you be playing?

3. Are there any online graphs or stats we should look at for the results of the games you will be playing?
-----------------------------

Still trying to think of something amusing to write in this bit.

I will have 2 shares. I don"t know exactly what that means  :) but you come across as a very honest and genuine person Dann who has a serious passion for poker, as I do.
You also take time to keep your stakers informed and up to date. Best of luck.
