I get the feeling that the build up to this is going to be excellent and the weekend will be something special, whether you are playing or railing.

When we come back from holiday, I"m going to broach the subject of a weekend in Brighton with Caz. Railing this event could be a lot of fun.

Unfortunately the Italian team have had to withdraw from the European Team Championship, but I"m very pleased to announce the inclusion of the Netherlands, under the captaincy of Nicky Roeg.

Thanks Thomas and Nicky, we are looking forward to meeting the teams from Germany and the Netherlands in Brighton.

We hope to announce two further participating countries in the next week, which will complete the line up for the inaugural APAT European Amateur Team Championship.

:D :D I saw this on Dave channel at the weekend. It"s called How To Start Your Own Country. Stuff about people living in Sealand (old platform in North Sea  ???), a guy in states who owns & sells acres of the moon (true  8) he"s made millions). You might hear me being mentioned on it (Half Man Half Mattress - pre fat Charlie Sheen days  :P)

Rankings data on leading players has now been issued to team captains, so we can expect some announcements shortly.  Captains can contact players directly through the forum via PM or APAT can email players as requested by the Captains.

Good luck to everyone hoping for selection.

The European teams will be announced in the near future also.

I am pleased to announce that Mary Martin has agreed to represent the winning Scottish team in the forthcoming European Team Championships.

Mary recently won The Individual Championship at the APAT UK Team Championship, held at the G Casino in Blackpool,  becoming the first female winner of an APAT National event.

I first met a very nervous Mary at the Irish APAT event in Dublin in 2007 where she ran into my full house which took most of her stack. It"s a strange way to make friends but we have since played online and live together at APAT events and Mary"s game has gone from strength to strength. She is always willing to help fellow APAT"ers and I am sure she will do APAT and Scotland proud in November.

Congratulations Mary.
