Things you would like to see in Apat...
« on: July 04, 2015, 23:48:19 PM »
As the title suggest, what things or initiatives that Apat currently doesn"t do would you like to see.

I"ll kick things off by saying a 2 day mixed games event (players championship?) at the WCOAP.

Would also really like to see the Stud event made into triple stud (Stud, Razz, Stud Hi Lo) .

Yes to the first, a massive hell no to the second. Would eagerly support a 2 day 8 game event at the Worlds!

A few things i would like to see..

A bounty tournament at the worlds.. say £110 (£10 juice) buy in £50/£75 into prizepool.. then £50/£25 on bounty.

WIFI permitting bring back the live updates that we used to have with Leigh/Maylis doing the commentary.

Champions of Champions event in season 10 where all National/World individual Gold medalists get an invite into a special tournament to celebrate 10 years of APAT.
2011 Bronze medal in Omaha online WCOAP
2012 ECOAP Main Event Champion and Gold Medalist
2012 ECOAP Player of Series winner
2012 UK Amateur Champion
WCOAP Gold Medalist and Bracelet winner Team England
S7 WCOAP Bronze medal Antes only
Bronze Shoot out WCOAP

I would guess the issue with having £110 tournaments as side events is it then sort of takes away from the £110 main event.

Such a fine line with providing a series the average person can afford to play most events or pricing them out of playing more than one event.

Think i would be willing to fork out £110 even if it meant missing 1 side event.. beauty of bounty tournaments is you dont necessarily need to finish in the money to make a profit..

How about about a ladies tournament and a seniors tournament at the world"s, I also think Carl"s ideas are very good, but not so sure Leigh would agree, seems to enjoy playing far too much these days.   ;)

Maybe an alternative (that we might actually be able to get to happen) broadcast live on google hangouts or something with guest commentary, pretty sure this is doable and would be a cheap alternative to what we had in season 4? You can do it with an ipad not sure how well the table would display but you could make it a live event on you tube?

Still trying to think of something amusing to write in this bit.

live twitch stream?

It"s been discussed and I know that Des had some interest from a group of APAT players to do this but I don"t know how that is coming along other  than that technology (wifi) seems to be the major stumbling block here.

Using casinos public wifi just for general use is often hit and miss at the best of times and maintaining a strong enough connection for additional streaming is probably not going to be possible.

If, and it"s a big if, access could be obtained to proper broadband aside from the general wifi then the likelihood of success is increased but casinos are understandably reticent in allowing outsiders access to their non-public networks.

Streaming is all very nice but hard to pull off...and then you have the content quality issue...but that"s another discussion.
