Wales - Team Discussion
« on: August 08, 2008, 12:47:30 PM »
This thread should be used to discuss Welsh team selections for the European Team Championship.

Players wishing to be considered for one of four places on the Welsh team should highlight the fact to  non playing Captain, Dewi James.

Please bear in mind that Dewi"s selections are likely to be largely based on APAT National Rankings and Championship performances.

This is correct APAt rankings and performances in the National events will mainly be used to determine the selections for Team "Cymru".  I will also be taking in to consideration players commitment to APAT

In the event of some players being very close in all areas I will take other achievements in to consideration,

Reply on this thread or PM me if you would like to be considered.

Congrats Dewi on being selected to lead the "winning Welsh team" and would like to throw my cap in the ring for selection... on the proviso that I finish in the top four Welshmen or women in the rankings.
But if I fail in that goal I wouldnt want to be selected unless those who finished higher were unable to take part... because I feel strongly that, as the saying goes, the table doesnt lie.
So three more tournaments to go to put myself in the frame for the chance to wear the red of Wales... hope I can take part in them all coz I need the points!!!
Cheers
Steve Harrison

First player for team "Cymru" has been selected, this player has been a supporter of APAT from the off, playing almost if not all the regional and national events.
Over the last 12 months however, he has been in exceptional form both online and Live, not only in APAT events, but did culminate in winning the Irish Championiship in Dublin .

Ladies and Gentleman, fellow APATr"s  I give you Darren Shallis (AKA Newportlad)

Welcome aboard Darren.

further selections will be announced over next few weeks

His performance on Saturday was excellent.  I never saw him without a pint in his hand all day.  Top effort.   ;D

He is a class act.  Dewi would have been proud.
