At the risk of being exposed to my ugly mug, could someone please tell me how the hell to get an avatar to display? I"ve tried uploading files from my PC and linking to files on the web but I can"t get a pic to display. Kinboshi?

Let me look into this.  Our Tech Dir is overseas at the moment so it is likely to be a week plus, but I believe we need an application of some sort that automatically resizes the images.

Your avatar needs to be 65x65 (not sure if it has to be exactly that size or not), and you can either upload your file (which should be a .jpg .gif or .png file) or link to one on the web - which is what I"ve done.

If that"s not working for you, I"ll need a bit more info.

In the meantime, if you have the image on your computer, you can resize it using:

http://www.picresize.com/

Dead easy to use, and it will help you to crop your image if necessary and scale it so it"s 65x65 in size.

I have mine located on my own server, and I know there have been problems in the past when they users have tried to upload them.

Are you uploading your own to the APAT's server? If you can upload to somewhere on the web, and then just put the link to it in your user settings.

Thanks for the info. Dan

Didnt see you in the Omaha last night. You were getting a bit of stick for being a one trick pony, not that I"m stirring things though.

Isn"t I lovely, isn"t I wonderful!*

Thanks Dan & Flying Pig.

KINBOSHI FOR MOD!

My avatar was a 65x65 .jpg so don"t know why it wouldn"t upload from my hard disk - perhaps you could get the Tech Dir to take a look on his return?

Did have to upload it to your own server or is it on the APAT's server?

Was at a sodding wedding.  Didn"t even know anyone there, it was someone Michelle works with.  I had to drive too.

One trick pony?  Wouldn"t go that far - still looking for my one trick...

Sorry Kinbosh you will have to make it simpler for me. I seem to be the only one who can not do it, I followed the link you gave but was unable to do it. Do you put 65 x 65 in at the bottom of the screen were it says customize? Or should I just wait until Des as a word with Tech Dir. I could always e-mail the image to some one if they are willing to help?

By the way I am not a computer person
