But in poker news -
Stuart puts a raise in from early position to 400, Dale calls and Simon makes his usual stand from the small blind and re raises to 1125. Carl, in the big blind, folds but doesn"t look 100% happy. Stu makes his sulky fold and Dale thinks for a moment and calls.
The flop comes
Simon bets but the amount isn"t announced as Dale"s cards are already in the middle of the table - "that flop is no good for me"
Simon shows
for a flopped full house. Carl says he folded
and Simon says "I am glad you folded, I am sure I would have found a way to lose to you!" Stay positive...
Stu limps into a pot and Laura raises to 450. Graham Thomson (FK) also calls.
The flop comes down
Stu checks and Laura leads out for 675. Stu calls and FK folds.
The turn is
and both players check.
The
on the river sees Stuart bet 1000 and Laura calls and is halfway through saying "I don"t think you have a set" when Stu tables his
and he does have the set. Laura threw a few choice words into the air with a laugh and mucked her cards.
Carl decided he fancied actually playing a hand and raised pre flop to 575...everyone folded - including Adam who folded
"because it is Pilgrim".
He gets to play again next hand from the big blind. Simon completes his small blind, Pilgrim checks and the two of them see a flop. Simon states that Carl has no chance and he will win the hand...a lot. (All in jest, I am not sure at this point if Simon has even actually looked at his cards at this point!)
The flop is
and Simon starts chattering again and bets 225. Carl doesn"t seem to be phased and simply smiles and calls.
on the turn brings more table talk and betting with Simon making it 500 and Carl contentedly calls.
on the river brings no action and we get a check from both players and Carl quickly announces that he has a 7.
Simon mucked with a smile. Carl showed
Gordon McArthur (GiMac) raised to 500 from early position. It folds round to Dale in the cut off, he called. Simon re raised from the button to 1300 - "I know Dale won"t fold but GiMac will" and he was right.
So Dale and Simon see a flop of
Dale checked and Simon bet 1275. Dale makes a comment about the flop being wrong and folds.
Last in this little round with table 13, Dale raises pre flop to 500 and Pilgrim makes it 1550. Dale calls and the flop is
Dale checks, Carl checks.
The turn is
Dale checks and Carl bets 1500 and Dale just says no and folds.
They have just been on a break and will have undoubtedly been to the bar...
