Team Scotland WCOAP 2016
« on: February 08, 2016, 22:15:43 PM »
I would like to thank everyone who applied to play for the Scotland team, the interest was overwhelming this time round and I could easily have selected 3 great teams.  After a lot of thought, I"m happy to confirm our line-up for the WCOAP;

TOM CLARK (c) - Gives me great pleasure to once again lead Scotland in the WCOAP.  Even managed to ship a side event in Luton recently so actually in a bit of form for a change    ;D

BEN BURNHILL - An APAT veteran and a huge competitor on the felt, I"m delighed to include Ben in the side.  Has the game to match anyone and had a decent score in the UKIPT Edinburgh last year  :)

CHRIS KELLY - Chris has also been around the APAT scene for a while and will be a valuable addition to the side.  Chris was part of the Home Nations Championship winning team in Season 6 at Stoke and I"m looking forward to reuniting with him in the Scotland team.

JAMES "HERBIE" ELLIS - He may speak with a Geordie accent, but Herbie bleeds tartan blood.  A passionate performer, Herbie is as solid as they come and won a Bronze medal in the European Championships in Season 7 in Prague and a valuable addition I"m glad to have in the side.

As much as I want Scotland to be up there competing for the competing for the medals, I"d like to wish good luck to all the other nations competing and look forward to seeing you all in London!

If we can"t win it with that ace in the hole then no chance.

It is an honour to represent scotland again. Goes without saying will do my best to try and help scotland take it down. If we cant then at least medal and if thats not possible at least beat the english. Obviously we will retain the drinking title. However i will refrain from the pulling title as i  now have a new wonderful girlfriend from switzerland. Looks a great team with a strong skipper. Cant wait to meet up with my team mates. Let the drinking begin. Good luck to all teams. Well except england( joking).

guess its only right that the battle cry comes from the day that over 100,000 scots invaded newcastle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qc1yGmUZD-A
