#2  8-Game Players Championship

No-Limit Hold'em

Will it finish here?

Ady picks up  Ks Kc on the first hand and raises from the BB. Haresh calls but folds on the Flop.

Martinha Pereiera moves all in pre flop and is called by Stephanie Theopentou

Martinha has 9c 3s and Stephanie has Kh Qc

The cards make no difference - 8h 5d 7h 4h 7s

and Martinha hits the rail.

Yasin has Roder covered by 200 chips. Roder makes the call.

Roder shows 8d 8c and Mohammed has 8s 2c

6d Qd 9h 9s 3h

Mohammed is down to 200 chips.

No Limit Hold'em - Blinds 30k/60k

The rest of the No-Limit Hold'em hands pass without incident, just some button raises, etc until we get to the last hand.

Ady raises Pre-Flop from the Button.

The Board of Js Kh 8s 8c 10d is checked to the River and Haresh bets 230k. Ady calls and Haresh shows Ad 8h.
Ady shows one card, the 10h.

There was 730k in that pot. Ady has 500k left.

#4 NLHE 3X

Next hand, Peter Thompson makes it 2.5k to go.
He is called by Sophocles Charalambous.
Laurentiu Radoles moves all in from the small blind and the big blind, James Swift, moves all in over the top.
Both Peter and Sophocles fold - Sophocles makes it clear he folded 7"s.

The cards go over and Laurentiu shows Ac Jc while James has Ad Kh

The board is dealt - 5h 7h 6s 6h 6c and James" King plays and Laurentiu is eliminated.

PLO

Ady has won a couple of sizeable pots, potting the Flop and Turn, with Haresh calling the Flop and slowly folding the Turn both times.

In the second one, he shows  3d 5c on a board of  3c 5s 5h Qd, which I"m guessing puts a question mark over the first hand..........

#4 NLHE 3X

Timotheos Timotheou limps under the gun with pocket kings.
Andrei Cucu raises, Timotheos re raises all in for around 10k and Andrei calls.

Andrei has As Js

The first card over is the ace and the river, just to be sure, is a jack and Timotheos is out.

#4 NLHE 3X

After a few raise and re-raises, Stephanie Theopemtou and James Shea get it all in before the flop.

James shows Ad As
Steph has 7c 7h but declares "sorry mate, I"m gonna make a straight on the river"

But she doesn"t have to wait that long as the flop delivers Kc 7d Js

The turn and river don"t help 5s 2h and Stephanie very quietly gathers the pot as James departs.

PLO

A big win for Ady.

Haresh raises to 210k and Ady reraises to 500k. The Flop is  9c 9s 3d and Ady moves in. Haresh folds and Ady shows  Kh Kd 9h  10c.

That was a one million chip pot.

2-7 Triple Draw

Ady wins another massive hand, J-high taking it down in 2-7!

Lots of chips get into the middle but both players miss their draws. Both check at the end and Ady"s  2d 3c 4c 5h Jh wins.

Haresh clearly also had a huge draw, but now he is down to about 250k

2-7 Triple Draw

Haresh doubles up.

They both get the chips in early.

Haresh stands pat on the last draw and shows  9d 7c 6h 5c 2d

Ady shows  9h 5h 3d 2h and hasn"t yet looked at his final drawn card. He needs a 4, 6 or 7 to win.

It"s the  Kh and Haresh doubles up to 500k.

Texas Hold'em Limit

Haresh loses some in the next hand and then.........

he raises, Ady reraises and they get it all in Pre-Flop.

Haresh 9c 10c
Ady     Qs 10d

Ady is ahead and picks up a flush draw along the way, which he misses, but Haresh misses a possible straight and Ady stays ahead.

6s 10s  Ks Jd Kc

Haresh Thaker finishes 2nd and wins a Silver Medal and £1,150.

#2  8-Game Players Championship

We have a Champion!!!

Ady Lovelock has won the tournament, winning a WCOAP Bracelet, a Gold Medal and £1,650.

The Players" Championship has clearly established itself immediately as one of the most prestigious events in APAT's calendar. I predict that this event will grow in the future but, with the possible exception of the WCOAP Main Event, there is already no tournament that the players want to win more. Winning this shows that a player is a master of numerous forms of poker - and we have a worthy first winner of the event!
