Mixed PLO / Hold'Em Game (Stanley Casino, Glasgow, Sept 08)
« on: September 09, 2008, 07:45:56 AM »
THREAD MOVED FROM HERE

after watchin the wsop pl omaha championship i have been trying my hand at a few low limit PL Omaha STT games recently (just to learn the game) and have to say i have been quite enjoying it. winning 2 out of 3 might give me an early biased opinion tho. does make a change from holdem. wish i had given the championship one a go last night now.  8)

Would you be up for playing a PLO SnG or small cash game (£0.10/.20) or something along those lines if it could be arranged? My mate Gordon says the Stanley lets you use it"s tables for no charge provided they"re not being used in the tournaments and you take your own chips...

I quite fancy getting a game of PLO in the casino environment sometime soon and could probs rustle up a few (5 or 6) players...

Could play something like a £0.10/0.20 cash game with £10 min/£20 max buy in and do a NLHE/PLO mix - switch game every round type of thing...

i would def be up for that if u can get something organised. dont think any of my buddies play omaha but i will check and see. Grant (santino) would prob be up for it whether he plays omaha or not, if its low stakes. keep me posted ;D

Sounds like a plan then.

That"s 5 of us from on here already...

I"ll speak to a few of my mates and get another 4 or 5 people on board before the end of the week so there"s 9 or 10 of us for a game then find out the script with the Stanley and organise it for maybe sometime next week.

We could either play it as £5 SnG"s (one of Omaha/one of NLHE) or play a cash game and switch game every round - I thought that"d be better because if limits were low (£0.10/£0.20) could buy in for a £10 then another £10 if ye lost the first one and nobody"s sitting out waiting for the next game to start. We"ll take a vote and see what the majority prefer, lol...

I"ll get a few names down in next few days, enquire at the Stanley and go from there.

Yeah it"s easy to get your money in anyway if you really want to, people seem to think because it"s Pot Limit that you have to make a Pot-sized bet everytime you have a hand so pots can go quite big sometimes, lol. Pots also go big because you"ve got people chasing double draws and stuff like that.

I like it because you can control the size of the pot a lot of the time so if you"ve got a decent hand but not sure where you are you can normally get to the end of a hand with a decent pot but without having to commit all your chips.

I"ve kinda hi-jacked this thread... maybe I should"ve made a new thread for this or something, lol :D - If we make this a regular occurence i"ll make a thread to arrange things in future... They should maybe have a home game / local game meetup thread on the live events part of the forum where people can look for or advertise local games - just a thought.

Cheers for that! Made good use of those new buttons ;D

I"ll post updates on here once I find out the script at the Stanley and get a few more names down. I might pop up to Stanley tonight to find out and have a punt on the £5 rebuy... in fact, i"d probably be as well buying a bingo card or lottery ticket. I had the words "Rebuy!" & "Chips!" ringing in my ears for days after last week...
