Great work John.. I must say I prefer the new scoring system as it only takes a result or 2 to completely change the state of running. Will hold the interest of those who perhaps are 20-30 points adrift of top spot.

In other news I"m top of the blonde fantasy poker game #thin..

Event 17: $1,000 No Limit Hold'em

Runners          2242
Paid          337
Final Table          9

Player          Position          Points
David Stones          37
Craig McCorkell          98          1

Selector          Points
Paxo          1

Another point for McCorkell and Paxo. Paxo always backs McCorkell, due to the Portsmouth connection. Together, they are trying to win this competition one point at a time. Such a pity there only 69 events.

Here"s an odd thing - both of the heads-up players made their first ever WSOP cashes today.

In fact:
The winner made his first WSOP cash today.
The second-placed player made his first WSOP cash today.
The fourth player made his first WSOP cash today.
The sixth player made his second (cashed in this event two years ago).
The seventh-placed player made his first ever WSOP cash today.

This is the winner, Chase Bianchi.
There might be creatures living in that beard.
Chase is 28 years old. Why do young men grow unattractive long beards like this? Why? Why?

Craig is going to hit another bracelet soon, I"m sure of it, one day, in the not too distant future. Maybe event 21, maybe in 3 years time, but yeah, one day  ;D

Marco Johnson won his second bracelet to take his WSOP winnings close to $2m.

But the big name on the final table was Chino Rheem, cashing the Series for the twelfth year in a row. One of the most controversial players in poker, but also one of the best. He has final-tabled the WSOP Main Event and four times he has won over a million dollars in poker tournaments. His total tournament winnings in twelve years amount to over $8m. Yet he is continually broke, borrowing from other players and repeatedly being accused of scamming by not paying them back, usually by claiming that he doesn"t have it. When he won his second WPT title in 2013, he collected $1.1m, and it wasn"t enough to clear his debts. He won yet another WPT title two months ago for $750k, which has probably all been accounted for, so the $21k he gets for this tournament will have little impact on his continual battle against going broke.

He was involved in a bizarre situation on the final table: "Rheem has about 100,000 chips committed to the pot heading to sixth street against Talarico. Talarico bets sixth street, and Rheem raises. Talarico calls. Talarico bets on seventh street, Rheem raises, and Talarico raises back. Rheem only has 4,000 chips behind at this point. Some confusion occurs, and Talarico exposes his down cards prematurely. Rheem says, "wait, I haven"t called." After Rheem sees Talarico"s hand, he folds and leaves himself with only 4,000."

British player Gerald Ringe (a bracelet-winner last year) finishes third and stands out from the scruffy crowd.

STAKER - WSOP #18 $3,000 HORSE

Staker          Stake          Winnings          Profit
John Murray          £2,088          £4,594          £2,506
Matt Dale          £2,088          £3,536          £1,448
Gianluca Ragusi          £2,088          £3,536          £1,448
Tom Feilding          £2,088          £3,536          £1,448
Barrie Cullen          £2,088          £3,313          £1,225
Sandy Drennan          £2,088          £2,730          £   642
Des Duffy          £   208          £   354          £   146

Some familiar names pop up in today"s Staker winners. I went for Eli Elezra, who came good for me, supported by Robert Mizrachi. Barrie put his whole stake on Mizrachi. Sandy had a piece of him too, and also had Hellmuth and Idema, who also both cashed. Everyone else who won did so purely by putting the lot on Hellmuth. Phil finally scored a cash in the HORSE, so maybe it"s the turning point for him.

The most creative staker was Ian Witt, who split his stake across thirty players. He had several cashes, but didn"t hit the big one yet.

Event #20, the $10k Razz is reaching a climax. Only 15 cashing and Hellmuth, Deeb and Pescatori have already cashed for us and just about everyone else who has cashed is a perennial casher. The tournament is down to the last five players, and there is a familiar look to it - Mercier is chip-leader and Hastings is still there, though short-stacked.

Less than 100 left in #21, the $3k 6 Max. Holz and Negreanu are top ten and Kelly and Polk (he"s alive) are still going for us. There may be others, as only half the remaining field is listed.

There are 101 players still in #22, $1,500 Limit. Zinno is third, Michael Mizrachi and Idema are highly-placed, while Chidwick and Watson are middle of the pack.

So who should you be staking in the WSOP and elsewhere?

Who is being staked the most?  Who are the most profitable players to stake?

I just happen to have that information:

STAKER - The Most Staked Players

STAKER - WSOP #14 $1,500 Millionaire Maker No Limit Hold'em

Staker          Stake          Winnings          Profit
Roddy Farmer          £1,040          £15,623          £14,583
Richard Prew          £1,044          £  6,269          £  5,225
Szymon Szczupak          £1,044          £  3,524          £  2,480
Ross Freeman          £   744          £  2,874          £  2,130
Matthew Whiting          £   400          £     591          £     191
Del Watson          £1,044          £  1,155          £     111
Rob Swindells          £1,044          £  1,139          £       95
Luca Cannella          £   150          £     159          £         9

It"s British Day! Stakers had lots of nice wins in the Millionaire Maker, and they almost all came from backing British players, with Simon Deadman, Tom Middleton and Max Silver all finishing high and being responsible for the results of the top four stakers.
Roddy, Richard, Szymon and Ross all got their wins from various combinations of these players. Roddy split his stake 50/50 between Deadman and Middleton, who both returned a good result, with Deadman"s high finish contributing the lion"s share.
Rob"s result came from another British player, Patrick Leonard.

The Razz was a cracker, with loads of the usual suspects finishing near the top. As well as those named above, regular cashers and finalists Yueqi Zhu, John Racener, Bart Hanson, Robert Mizrachi, Scott Abrams, Matt Grapenthien and Max Kruse also figured in the shake-up. Zhu, who finished third, was also second in the Dealers Choice and has now cashed five times this year (so far). Even Australian Robert Campbell, who only has five WSOP cashes, has reached the final table in three of them, all mixed events.

In the end, it was mostly about Mercier. Long-time chip-leader, it seemed inevitable that he would win another bracelet, his second in three days. But it didn"t happen. He got to heads-up, but Ray Dehkharghani hung tough and managed to take the win.

As nearly everyone has Mercier, there was little impact on our competition, other than for the five who don"t.
