Event 40: $2,500 Mixed Limit Triple Draw Lowball

Runners          236
Paid          36
Final Table          6

Player          Position          Points
Dzmitry Urbanovich          12          1
Jason Mercier          26          1
Stuart Rutter          30          1
Mike Watson          34          1

Selector          Points
Glenn          3
Dann          2
Simon B          2
Craig          2
Steve          2
Paul          2
Tom F          2
Suzanne          2
John          2
Neil          2
Carl          1
Adam          1
Luca          1
Barrie          1
Karen          1
Paxo          1
IrishTom          1

Christopher Vitch has had several high finishes in the past, including a second last year and a third previously. He had another third place this year in #8, but finally nailed it here for his first bracelet.

Mercier made his seventh cash, but that will be irrelevant to him as another opportunity for that third bracelet slips past. Urbanovich"s attempt for three looks a joke at this stage.

Forty players won their tables in #42: $3k Shootout NLHE. Our interest lies with Ho, Mizrachi, Chidwick and Esfandiari.
I also have Rhys Jones in #42 John  ::)

And he has just become the first player to qualify for the final table. Gotta have some sympathy for George Trigeorgis, who lost heads-up to Jones in the second round, losing with a full house to Jones" quads and then with trips to Jones" straight. Running like that, Jones must be favourite for the bracelet.

Edit: Chidwick and Ho have now also made it to the final table - the others are out.
My best event to date! Have to say hope Rhys does get the bracelet, even if it"s just to emulate his good mate Craig (McCorkell) who won the same event a couple of years back. Well, that and points for me of course! Beating Maria heads up would be nice.  :D

I have a feeling the heads-up will come down to those two and he"ll give her a licking. Bracelet for Fareham!

Thank God for events like the $10k 6-Max (#39), which has just finished. Some final tables are filled with identikit automatons trying to out-bore each other, so it"s good to see some interesting players:

4th - Chris Ferguson

3rd - Justin Bonomo

2nd - Davidi Kitai (eat more food Davidi)

1st - Romesh Ranganathan

We have tonnes of players cashing in this. Wheelbarrow-loads of points to be delivered. Back soon.

Staker          Profit

Simon Lawlor          £1,899
Suzanne Hayward          £   807

Simon & I got our returns by staking Ian Johns, but I decided to risk the lot on him. Suzanne and Chris had winning stakes on Rep Porter and Jason Somerville.

Considering the shootout is a final table of 10.. Are we going with 10th+9th both scoring 2 points??

I"m happy with the majority or will leave it up to John to make final decision  ;D

2 points each sounds fair to me.

Another really tough event. Eight of the top twelve already had at least one bracelet at home. Kitai almost reclaimed full rights to being the winningest Belgian at the WSOP, one day after Michael Gathy equalled his record of three wins, but will have to get used to sharing it.

The final hand was a three-way all-in, Kitai"s 66 against Bonomo"s 99, both called by Martin Kozlov, with QQ and the chip lead. A flop of QQ7 left nothing more to discuss.

STAKER - WSOP #39: $10,000 Six-Handed No Limit Hold'em Championship

Staker          Profit
Barbara Press          £10,328
Gareth Howard          £10,247
Simon Lawlor          £  3,928
Suzanne Hayward          £     267

Barbara came good again, picking Volpe, and was almost matched by Gareth, who had Silver. Silver didn"t finish as high as Volpe, but Gareth had everything on him. Either way, they both came out over £10k up.

And what about Simon and Suzanne? Already riding high at the top of the leaderboard, their two names keep coming up as repeat winners (as does Barbara"s). This time, they both secured their profit by staking Leonard, though Simon backed it up with a win on Seiver as well.

I"m not sure how Des is handling it, ie whether he has enough details to match winners with their tokens online, or not. Prob best for others to wait for him to to clarify it before piling in.
