Only one of our players made it through to Day 2 of the Colossus from the two sessions yesterday. Chris Ferguson had a stonking Series last year under pressure and has gone through as the 6th biggest stack from 1C.

We had two more cashes - Loni Harwood and Tom Middleton. Please let me know if I miss one of your guys in this event - it's quite likely. I will review every player's HM near the end to ensure nothing has been missed.

Cord Garcia, 2015 winner of this, finished 1D in 2nd place. Amazing story coming up?

Today will see the APAT & LPPL prizewinners in action in this event, plus other APAT/LPPL players, most of whom arrived as a large group yesterday. Here's hoping for some deep runs!

Chris also cashed in Days 1A & 1B, Will he get extra points for this?

I see he cashed in 1B. No extra point - one man one score.

I think I can see what Firaldo was thinking when he was eliminated from the High Roller in what looked like a ridiculous manner when he had an easy fold.

The BB was 16k and he opened from MP to 35k. The SB made it 508k and Farrell shoved for c 700k, with no fold equity and was called.

The SB admitted "I have to call. I didn't see your open." He had thought it had been folded to him and just dumped in an amount of chips more than the BB had (160k), presumably without counting them. 508k is such a random amount and the SB probably gave away that he was only considering the BB with his body language.

I reckon Farrell realised what had happened and figured his KJ to be ahead of the SB's range, which is ATC. He would still have to win the race and was not a big favourite against any hand, but was a small favourite, maybe 60/40. High Stakes players never really have a massive advantage in ability over each other and make a living from small edges like this.

Or else he was possibly steaming from losing half his stack a few minutes before with JJ. It wouldn't be the first time he has made a questionable call. I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt though.

Huge congrats to the APAT/LPPL players on their performance in the Colossus.

Well done to Ian Swan and Charles Mason, who are through to Day 2, and to Justin Hazeldene, Paul Haycock and Rob Green, who cashed.

In WSOP tradition, where they seem to pick towns at random, they have Ian listed as coming from Blackwood, North Carolina.

From our teams, Ismael Bojang, Mike Leah, Chris Moorman and Ryan Leplante made it into Day 2 and there were cashes for Maria Ho and Martin Finger. Please tell me if I have missed anyone.

Best name in the Colossus, through to Day 2 with 112,000 chips.........Gang Wang!

The High Roller played to a final table yesterday, finishing when Hellmuth busted in 10th. Charlie Carrell and Igor Kurganov also cashed. Doug Polk is our only player on the FT.

Dan Shak was the bubble, getting it in pre with AJ against J5. The Board - T43A... you can see where this is going.........2!

#7, the Mixed Triple Draw, also played to a final table, with 7 players left. We have Chris Bjorin and James Obst.
Ian Johns, Konstantin Puchkov, Eric Wasserson, Roland Israelashvili and Randy Ohel also cashed for us.

Shak accepts the beat without flinching.

Polk wins his third bracelet (a real one, as he says himself, having won the Tag-Team last year). I thought someone had him on their team, but he was sacked off this year. Hellmuth just misses his millionth final table, but was our highest finisher in the most loaded field possible.

The tournament will be remembered for Elky check-raising Hellmuth on two streets with JT on a KQQ flop, and convincing PH to fold Q9 on the turn. (Only great players can fold Trip Queens, Ben Burnhill!)

Karen          1

We had the second and third placed players in this, with quite a few backing Obst and Tom B going for Bjorin.

The WSOP tends to play six-handed games with an unnoffical final table of seven. That led to the strange result of one player having to sit out each hand, as there were only enough cards for six.

Naoya Kihara, tipped to be this year's Benny Glaser, makes his first showing.

14 left in #9, $10k Omaha Hi-Lo, including Negreanu, Monnette and Soulier.

And here's a blast from the past - Mike Matusow is still in. Also ODB and Zinno - knew I shouldn't have sacked him.

Pescatori and Ohel also cashed, but are out now.

The $1k Tag Team is down to 43 teams. It's difficult to tell how much interest we still have - Ryan Laplante is there for sure. There may be others, but the way they are listed doesn't help.

Quite a few of our players have already cashed in this, including Chris Ferguson, who teamed with Andy Bloch and ............Howard Lederer. That's Howard's first tournament cash of any kind for over six years - and he did take a turn at the table to earn it.

The Colossus is down to three tables, but our interest in this is long over.
