We lose David Griffiths shortly after he was crippled with pocket 8's against AJ... J on the Flop, though David also picked up an open ended straight draw, and with a spade on the Turn he picked up a flush draw... but River was no help and he departed in 21st for $489

-------------

18 remain with JP Round, Charles Mason, Steve Smith and Paul Herbertson still in the hunt...

-------------

Steve departs in 16th for $704

quickly followed by JP in 15th for $704

Charles Mason moves all in and is called by a shorter stack.

Charles has 4h 4s v Ah Jh

10s 9d 5h 6s Ac

The river kills Charles' hand and he takes a 250k hit.

Second player all in turns over 10c 10d
Charles shows Kc Qs

Paul has all his chips in the middle and has A s Ad in front of him.

His opponent has 9s 9d

The board is Qs 9h 6h Jd 2s

Paul is shaking the other player's hand as he leaves the table in 11th place for $860.

Paul was the last APAT/UK player to depart the North American Amateur Poker Championship, leaving an 'all American' Final Table.

leaving an 'all American' Final Table.

Looks like the only British winner here was everybody's good friend A. Lcohol.

Congrats on the hugely impressive number of runners and great reporting as usual. Hope you're all having fun over there. x

Charles Mason, hopefully you have a read of this...
Is the winner not the person we had to call back to the table when you had to split the pot...?
Certainly looks like him and I know he was Canadian..
He spoke French with his friend but good English to us at the table.

No I finished him off later, it was a funny hand though when we chopped, he shook hands went the rail completely dejected looking to the gods above only to be called back, he couldnt believe it!

However when it was his exit hand we were somewhat similar in chips, again we shook hands and he lefts not quite so forlorn this time, then the dealer calls him back saying he had a few chips left, he sits only to be told "Sorry I made a mistake and you really are out", a little cruel.
