I thought I"d buck the trend a little by mentioning my
good luck in a cash game yesterday. Playing two tables, I"d just decided to take the blinds one last time before logging off. I find KK in the big blind. At the same time, on the other table, I have :as: ks - I flop the nut flush, a tantalising Ten away from the royal, and two other guys at the table obviously don"t believe me. The board doesn"t pair, I rake in the pot. My kings also hold up as an overpair.
Next hand but one, I"m dealt Aces. I take down the pot.
The very next hand I end up with ah kc - and two kings come on the flop. Opponents stay with me all the way to the river.
So after my biggest and longest downswing, all it took was two good nights to dig me right out of the hole. A month and a half heading slowly down, a couple of leaks plugged, then two days to make up all that ground. I tell you, this game can mess with your head!
And, at last, I can spot the fish at the table in the first few minutes. Maybe, just maybe, this means it isn"t me
