WCOAP 2018 Spotlight - Mississippi Straddle (NLHE) (Tue 9pm)
« on: February 26, 2018, 12:54:05 PM »
You can find the full WCOAP 2018 schedule HERE

The Mississippi Straddle (NLHE) Championship will take place as follows:

#17 Tue 3rd April 2018 21:00 £50+£7 estimated capacity 5 x 9-handed tables (45 players)
10k stack - 20 min clock
Late Entry 21:30 (02:00 estimated completion)

The event will play out as per a 'regular' NLHE MTT, with the exception that the 'Mississippi Straddle' MAY be made by any player not in the Blinds, with priority starting from UTG and moving clockwise - a straddle does NOT have to be made.

If UTG chooses not to 'straddle', then UTG+1 may do so... and so forth...

Additional straddles may be made - eg blinds are 50/100 and UTG straddles to 200 - UTG+1 may then also straddle (to 400) and this may continue round as far as the Button position (any player in the 'blinds' may not straddle).

If a straddle bet is placed, then the 'action' (ie first player to make a decision after the deal) will commence with the player to the left of the 'last' straddle placed - meaning the player who placed the (last) straddle will be the last to act on the first round of the table - they effectively become the BB.

EXCEPT for the 'first straddle', a straddle may only be placed by a player when the player immediately before them has placed a straddle.

EG:

UTG chooses to straddle, UTG+1 does not.... no more straddles may be made

UTG chooses not to straddle, then UTG+1 or subsequent positions may choose to do so (with priority being the player who will be first to act after UTG).

Action will NOT in any way stall whilst players work out who is straddling... it is up to the player(s) to place their straddle bet before the dealer deals the first card (whether a straddle is placed 'on time' or not is at the sole discretion of the dealer).
