Once the cards are mucked, they"re dead. Sorry but, imho, The TD made the right decision, regardless of whether the cards were easily identifiable.

It"s these harsh lessons that we learn from

I bow to you guys greater knowledge, but I am sure I have read somewhere that if you muck accidently, but can easily identify your cards, they may be retrieved.

I"ve read that too, but different places do have different rules on this. I think (tentatively) that in the US an accidently mucked hand can be retrieved, if possible. But in pretty much any UK cardroom, it is dead, so you can be assured that you received the correct ruling in the APAT regional.

We did give player A the benefit of the doubt, being a wee bit over eager with his Ace High Flush, and Player B kept his 2050 chips.

What did annoy me bout the game was player A thought he should have collected those chips too .... but the rest of the table knew there was no call or all in move made, so he was bumping his gums moaning for nothing.

Fortunate for Player A that he wasn"t at an event I was TDing - he"d have had a lot more to witter and moan about then.
