We were so close again to getting a second double-winner. With 11 left, there were three 2019 winners (Joseph Cheong, Jaoa Vieira and Juha Helppi) still in the game and the double was on. Which one would it be? With five left, they were all gone. Robert Campbell, the only player who has actually done the double this year, got as far as 35th, so something even better was a possibility for a while. Although the final five had never won any bracelets previously, three of them were WSOP ring winners, so this was no amateur match-up.
The noise from the Main Event final table interfered at times but they soldiered on until Alan Sternberg, who won two rings in six days last September, was the only one standing. Evangelos Kokkalis won $277k for 2nd place, doubling Greece's National Income for the year.
