It's the first level and the average stack is still around the starting 40k.

The board is 2c Ad 10d 10h and Liam Pickering is facing an all in on the turn.

He makes it and asks his opponent if he has Aces as he turns Ah 10c

He is shown A s Ks and the 2d river sees Liam send a player to the rail and double up to over 80k.

We spot Rob Finn amongst the early entries - Rob being our 2018 Irish Champion (beating Nye Venables Heads Up), sitting here to the left of Mick McCluskey (who coincidentally finished runner-up in the 2018 IPO Dublin (have you seen Mick's Hendon Mob results? - HERE)

Mr Murray is in the house, and he has seen some action when I arrive at the table with the Board showing 8h 10h 7c 9c

John gets it all in and Heads Up he flips over 10c Jc for the straight, with a flush draw, and gut shot straight flush draw - opponent shows 9d Jh for the same straight - John misses his draws and they split the pot... he seems happy enough :) x

With blinds at 300/600/600, there is a raise to 2100 and 4 people call, including Ben Burnhill in the small blind.

They check the board all the way to showdown - 5h 7h A s 3s Ac

The big blind shows Qs 5s and wins the hand as the rest fold.

Ben Burnhill ships his remaining 15k holding 7c 7d

He is called by Ad Jc

He doesn't survive the Js 3d 3c 5d 8h board.

Blinds are 300/600 and there is a raise to 1200 with 3 callers.

Liam Pickering is one of them.

They call check the 2h 10s Qs flop

Liam bets 1500 on the Qc turn and gets one call.

They both check the Ks river and quickly show cards.

Liam turns 5c 5s but taps the table and smiles when he sees 7c 7h

Just before we reach the dinner break (60 mins) here in Dublin with 146 / 210 players - blinds 400 / 800 (800) and Mick McCluskey in mid position raises to 2,200 - gets 1 player pushing All In for less than another 1k for Mick, who is sitting comfortably with over 100k in chips (40k starting stack and average circa 57k) - Mick makes the call and shows his Ks Qs - opponent flips over A s Ah and takes the pot on a dry Board.

Players proceeding on a 60 min dinner break...

Ben Burnhill is the action station of today!

He raises to 3.5k with blinds at 800/1600

He gets 2 callers and they see a flop of A s 7c Kc

Ben bets 5.5k and gets one call, one fold.

They both check the 7d turn and Ben bets 10k on the 3d river

He is called and Ben's Ad 10c wins the hand adding just over 21k to his stack.

Kevin Duffy stands up as he flips over his 9h 9s but is up against Js Jh

First card we see on the Flop is 9c and Kevin starts to sit down, only for the dealer to reveal the full Flop with Jd Qs - 6c 4d completes the Board and Kevin hits the rail

As I approach the table Liam Pickering is standing up.

The board is 8c 8h 3c Qs 6c

Liam holds 7c 7h but is up against Qd 8d which sends him to the rail, and we're down to 111 / 244 entries as play comes to the final break (20 mins) of the day... 3 more levels to be played after the break and we should be bagged and tagged before midnight then back tomorrow at noon for Day 2.

So players are back after their final break of the day, and we have 109 players from 245 total entries remaining, with the event playing at the start of Level 10 (1,000/2,000/2000) with an average 99k stack / 50 BBs - 3 levels remain to be played tonight.
