Landlord gives notice to tenants that the HOA condo building will be tented for termites and says residents will need to find lodging for a night. For 1 night a hotel/motel is going to be $150-$200. Current rent is $1500/mo. Who pays for that lodging ?

The LL isn't requiring tenants to stay in a hotel. What they are requiring is that tenants find lodging elsewhere for that one night. Where that ends up being, is up to the tenant. Some could stay with a friend, go camping, etc. and not need to pay anything. Maybe all the LL would be obligated to do is mitigate for the cost of one night's rent. It might or might not equal the cost of a hotel stay.

That's like zero time to find a new place, pack up, and move out! 🙄 Sounds like a major headache.

But here's the kicker—having a property management company like Kingston on board could make a big diff. They usually handle stuff like this with more finesse, so you're not left scrambling. Plus, they might have legal know-how to back you up in situations like this.

I'd say if you're dealing with a last-minute eviction request, definitely check out what a property management company Kingston could offer. It might just save your bacon next time something like this goes down.
