And behind door number 19 is............................

Daniel "Kinboshi" Phillips

Well, what do we know about Daniel ?

This man is a serial poster, having posted over 2000 times on the forum, and yes, he was the one who first replied to the thread from yesterday"s advent calendar.

He is part of the APAT team and general font of all knowledge.  He was Blonde Poker team captain at the UK Team Championships in Blackpool earlier in the year.

His input into the forum on all areas of poker is appreciated and respected by all in the poker community.  (Is this taking it a bit far, I mean are people really going to believe this ?)

Oh, and according to some archive footage I have found, he won some event in season one.  Sounds sort of impressive, the way he talks about it.......   ;D  ;D

And behind door number 20 is............................

Richard "Tightend" Prew

As you can see, the only picture I could find of Tighty and he"s hard at it, as usual.  For those that don"t know Richard, he"s the one who"s not Des, if that helps ?

Tighty looks after the updates, amongst many other poker related responsibilites, and has the ability to make what can sometimes be a fairly dull session of poker into something worth reading on the forum.  In the recent APAT awards nominations, we had plenty of poeple suggesting update threads.  When asked "well, which one is your favourite ?", they were a bit stumped to give an answer other than "they are all good ?"

And it is tough to pick out any particular one.  Peoples favourites tend to be linked to whether they were playing in that tournament or had people they know playing.  So, I"ll pick out a couple that i"ve enjoyed.

APAT UK Team Championships - DAY ONE

I had my headphones on to try and drown out the live band at the G Casino, Blackpool that night.  Most of the set list got included in the update, I don"t think Tighty appreciated them very much.   ;D

APAT UK Team Championship - Live Update - Day One

APAT Irish Amateur Championship - Day Two

I didn"t make day two of this, but like most players in Dublin for the weekend, stayed around to watch the action unfold.  What makes it difficult to update at times is the physical lcoations you find yourself in.  On day one of this event, the field was spread over three rooms on two floors, tough enough, but updating on a final table from across a busy card room, with another full tournament running and a group of APATers six deep railing, well that takes some doing.

Competitive Countries

Before the European Team Champsionships had even started, things were hotting up on the forum between countries.  And the creative juices of the Scottish and Welsh teams were certainly flowing.

Of course, it didn"t work out exactly to plan for the Welsh, but the Scots managed to clinch second place, so pre-tournament musical team announcements for the win in 2009.

Gordon "Gimac" McArthur

Gordon has had a great season with APAT.  He was runner-up in the Northern Regional division, he was part of the Scottish team that were runners-up in the European Team Championships, even with him dressed in a kilt.  Gordon has been described as one of the best APAT players not to have won a National Event.  So, where does it go wrong for Gordon ?   Well, I think I have the answer, but you"ll need to see the bigger picture to fully understand.

A lack of concentration on his game is clearly in evidence here.  If you are still trying to find him in the photo, he"s in the bottom left corner.  That"s it, move your eyes to the left, a bit more, now down a bit, and you"ve found him.   ;D

Hope Des doesn"t mind me leaking Season 3 plans early ?
