Guinness World Record
« on: December 23, 2008, 19:53:16 PM »
Just wondering if anyone here is going to be getting involved in the Record breaking - most amount of people in a tourney - on PokerStars, on Sunday (20:30gmt which they now have as a timezone!  ;D).

There are sat"s to the tourney, even though it is a very modest buy-in ($11 total) and a $500k guarantee.

Think it would be nice to have an influx of Brits.

I hear ya, however, it only has 10 minute blinds - so i should really only last 9 hours max, maybe, i"m assuming.

nah it must have and will have in excess of 10,000 runners -- huge amount of chips in the latter stages == it will last a long time

Seriously, last Sundays 200k (3000 chips, over 26000 people and 10 minute blinds) lasted just under 9 hours  ;)
To break the world record they need to beat 30000, but with a 500k guarantee and with us Brits staying in all that time - who really is going to care about going to work when that sort of cash is being handed out.

See you at the tables, a small chrimbo bonus has just given me the bank to join in.

Can"t be bothered with the sat"s.

It"s capped at 35000 runners and the prize fund is guaranteed at 500,000.

With that added money I"d be very surprised if it didn"t reach the cap.

But if you look at the blind structure - I"d be very surprised if lasted more than about 9 hours.

I"m trying to register.  There has to be a knack of getting a seat when someone vacates theirs.  Not managed it yet though...

Just out of interest, do people who are in this game fancy putting down their online aliases who are in this game, for the unlikely event that we may meet sometime during the tourney.
