Trip report on Aspers Bonfire Bonanza:
Pros:
40 minute levels, 10k stack and dealer dealt gave plenty of play.
The standard was much weaker than I expected (very similar to the lower buy-ins there). Playing classic TAG worked well, picking on the 4-5 on my table who were loose-passive with lots of 3-betting and being more careful around the others, keeping pots small against them.
Cons:
Only 45 runners (but top prize over 2k).
Buffet was poor - just chilli tacos and rice.
Breaks were too long.
I didn"t cash (came 14th after getting all in on flop with the nuts (nut flush) only to have a set fill up to knock me out, would have been chip leader but it wasn"t to be).
I"m not going to be around for the 100+10 for the first Saturday in December I"m afraid, have satted into Betfair"s tournament in Vienna, shall we get together in Jan or Feb?
