Right I thought I"d do a little run down on how we all fared last night in the First Leg of the Online League.  Of course I am delighted that we secured 2 points for finishing second and had an excellent turn-out (18). We had a few players who didn"t play last night, some of them have PM"d me and they will be available for the next game. Tim and Nigel (The Stacked-Up Boys) did us proud finishing 2nd & 6th and we also had Denis (BSDEN67) in the top 20. With half the field, of 132 runners, departed we still had 11 of our team involved. Unfortunately we lost 7 of those by the time we reached the last 48 and things were starting to look difficult. Still we came through and have a good base on which to build in the coming weeks.
Remember there are still 19 weeks left and we will all have a part to play in securing the Southern Region Title for the South London Team.

I know some of you have questioned the structure used in last nights competition. This is being looked into by Apat, so keep an eye on the forum for any annoucements.

All the best for the next game on the 15th Feb.

Mike.

Thanks all. Felt I had a good game and was just 1 card away from taking the tournament down.. From this weekends team performance I think it is looking good for a South London win.

Now looking forward to a repeat performance for myself in the national up in Walsall! :D

WP Tim and UL to the rest of the team. As our captain says, plenty of time for every one to get some points on the board over the next 19 matches.

Oh and thanks to the railers who hung around to give support.

All those who are going to Walsall (think there are at least 8 of us) from the South London Team who are interested in a last longer bet please post here. I was thinking along the lines of £10 with the person lasting longest who dosn"t cash being the winner.

Well played Tim and Nigel! Sorry I wasn"t able to give much support, never really got going and after the first break was into push/fold territory which was always gonna come unstuck sooner or later.

Enjoyed the game and hope to be able to chip in with some points in the next few weeks.

No problems Neil, as I have said before this is a 20 week competition and there will be weeks when we come unstuck. The South London team has a lot of good very good players and I"m confident we will finish in the top three of what is a very tough Southern Region.

Good luck Sunday.

I should be in for Sunday.  Well played to Tim and Nigel in match 1, as Tim says he was just one card away from victory.  Good luck to all on Sunday, hopefully go one better this time.
Baldrick, we're in a very sticky situation, we're in the stickiest situation since stickty the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun

Leg Two - 15th February

What a great performance from the team on Sunday evening. We secured 13 points thanks to the efforts of Spartan13 - Jeldon Fernandes 3rd place and BSDEN67 - Denis Corcoran 6th place which was enough to give us first position and the 3 points. This along with our 2nd place finish in Leg One now sees us sitting top of the Southern Division with 5 points. Of course there is still a long, long way to go but what a fantastic start. Also pleasing was the high turnout (19 out of 25 registered members) as other teams in our division seem to be recruiting more players its important we continue to support these events to give us the maximum chance of maintaining our lead.

Good Luck and see you all on the 1st March for Leg 3.

Mike
