Dinner break. It has been one of my worst tournaments ever. I usually only get runs like this in the WCOAP ME. In six hours of play (hourly levels), I won one hand in Level 2, one in Level 4 and one in Level 6. I also nicked the blinds without resistance twice in L6. That"s it.
I played really tight for the first couple of levels. That wasn"t hard, as I was on a very aggressive table with lots of 3-betting and so on and I was getting 93, 94, T2, etc all the time. Moved table to an easier one and played a few hands with small pairs, Q8 suited, 78 suited, KT and the like. Whatever I have had, the Flop has been the opposite. Down to 6k now and the BB will be 500 after the break, so something has to give soon.
At least I have had the opportunity to play a larger buy-in tournament, which I have been wanting to do for a while. The frustrating thing is that the standard of play isn"t all that. I have seen large bets on the River when there was a gutshot and three of one suit on the board. Each time, they have been called and an overpair has been shown, which has won. Top pair was shown by the caller on two occasions and, the other time, they mucked, but I assume they had something like that. The bet would never have been called in APAT (or LPPL), but it probably wouldn"t have been made in the first place. These guys won"t fold, so I need to hit a hand.
