« on: February 03, 2009, 16:12:54 PM »
16 players starting chip stack 5000 £12 entry 1st place £150 2nd £10 down to 9 players im sat on 4 handed table on the button

my hand js jc i raise to 1800 with a 13000 chip stack

the sb goes all in 8k

the bb instantly calls 8k with 4k left behind him which is around what i have aswell

WHAT IS UR PLAY?

I GET TO SEE THE FLOP AND THEIR CARDS AS 1 MAN ALL IN AND CALLER SO I`LL POST THEIR HANDS AFTER GET VIEWS

i have only played about 8 hands on this table as recently got moved to it,knocked 1 player out with 44 i called a low stacks all in.
so have no real reads on these players at all only the sb has supposedly won $60k online once.in mtt

I"d Imagine that you have to fold this here -

Small Blind has quite big range - So if it was Heads up against them - you"d have to call - but as the BB calls the all in he prob has a pair or Big Cards AJ+ poss big Pair! so you cant call - that is too weak - you move in and your JJ shrinks in value against two other players as the BB has to call (pot committed) - so I would fold - Hope the BB Hand Holds up to knock out the SB

live to fight with a larger stack at what now i presume is the Final Table - I assume the BB is about 600 as you raised to 1800 - still plenty of play with a 13k stack at an 8 handed table! a better spot will come!

What are the blinds, 300/600?  Is it £100 for 2nd?  Your OP says £10.

I agree with everyone else who said fold! Same reasons Big Blind insta-call representing a big hand! Live to fight another day and you haven"t really lost that many chips.

I"d probably shove it all-in to be honest.  Essentially this is going to be your remaining 11,200 (13,000- 1,800) to win 21,800 (SB"s 8,000, BB"s 12,000 assume he"s pot committed - and your initial raise of 1,800) so nearly a 2/1.  There"s only QQ, KK, AA that beat you, anything else you"re in great shape.  Even if they HAVE one of those three over-pairs you"ll suck out on them 20% of the time anyhoo.

Granted I"m factoring into this decision that"s it"s a £12 buy-in and only two places get paid.  I assume the blinds are 15-20 minutes?  If you win this pot you knock two players out plus the chips you have now will give you license to steal anything not tied down...so indirectly it"s a potential pot of even more than 21,800.  You only live once man, shove it in... no its £10 for 2nd 1st place is a ticket into another round worth £150 so its all top heavy on prizes
