Deep into a tournament, the chip leader - for whatever reason - has to leave.  What happens to his chips?

It seems WSOP have a rule to cover it...

"There is a rule for this at the WSOP. Rule #52 specifically states that players who are disqualified will have their chips removed from play and players who leave due to health reasons or otherwise will have their chips blinded off."
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.
