so more poker in vegas, met up with neil for my first tourney of the week. We ended up deciding to play at the venitian. It has a great card room, so $150 buy in 7000 chips, 20 min blinds seems like a decent structure.

So game on, first hand goes raise, reraise, call, call. Looks like one of they tables, i look down Ace King spades. So decide to repop and everybody call. I hit nothing betting goes bet  and then reraise, so goes fold fold and I fold, turns out set 7s win. Looks like its going to be a busy table.

Looking round table after a few orbit, seat 1 calling station an any 2 cards player. (p.s ment to be some sort of famous baseball player) Im from Scotland we play rounders lol.
Seat 2 seemed pretty solid player. Seat 3 young guy talks a super star game, Seat 4 quite guy has a lot of chips early on looks good. Seat 5 crazy asian guy, loves the raise.(All asian guy play crazy). Last few player seem supper tight playing no hands.

So I go through a few orbits without many decent card a lot of raises reraise calls happening in front of me so needed to pick up a hand to play. Crazy guy on right playing lots of pots but often showing nuts, loves the reraise in position.

First hand in a while Ace King again to I put a raise in from mid to late position rock on left, puts in the old min raise, so i flat call oop hoping to hit. i miss again I check call the guys 1/3 pot bet on flop thinking of later streets and I wanted to play I guess but i guess not good oop, so turn missed I check they bet, I fold and they flip queens..

Few hands later crazy guy has knock put 2 players in 5 hands with stone cold nutts, must be so FN.  So it is folded around to him in the small blind, and he raises, I look down at ace king and reraise, he flat calls. Flop come Ace king 10 finally I hit now can I get paid. So he leads out I call, Turn is a blank. He checks I bet and he calls, turn is a blank he checked I decided to over bet the pot as he as been making a lot of big calls with middle pair. No such luck he fold and gives me a long stare.

2 hands later, on button I look at 66, folded to me I make standard raise the small blind min raises me again. I dont know what it is but they love the min raise over there! I decide to call see a flop. flop comes like 10 high, I think I migt be good. He lead out and I raise and then he shoves and I fold he showes JJ. Im like to do alway pick up a hand when I raise. Need to keep eyes peeled for min raise.

So very next hand couple of usual limper i look at ace queen. Decide to raise, guy on left reraises again, " Im like can u see my cards or somthing" every body folds I decided to see a flop and call.  The flop comes King High, I check he bets, I tank and decided to go for check raise, rep a hand like ace king, oooops he shoves, I fold he flips set of kings. This guy has me in his pocket.

Next hand to note was the last hand before the break, I am on big blind, it goes raises reraise and call I look down at ACE ACE in big blind im getting short had under 5000 chips , so I shove hoping to get some callers for guy shoving allin before break, but get 1 caller and double through up to around 11000 right on chip average nice timing....

Break time.....

Yeah wonder why these guys tended to show more hands! Strange I think there is a time and a place for it but not all the time especially big pairs all the time

I have been playing a more of these DS on stars, I  made a few final tables but no seats, so going to take a break from them I think, I have made heads up on most of the table I play but recently my heads up play has been terriable, I was initialy playing heads up well, but I feel that I am to willing to gamble heads up at the moment instead of patiently chipping away so getting a bit annoyed at myself really feel that im donking my chips away with supid call with middle pair heads up.

Iv decidied Im going to try play more 6 max tourney looking back at my result I seem to do better at these, I guess it suits my game more.

I played $55, $7000 on stars last night, I guess this was my first jump away for say my usual $20 tourney, I enjoyed it a lot more, I feel that the play was much better, seemed to be less donkish moments from, players. I made the money from 1105 players, with just bellow average chip stake, playing pretty straight forward poker I guess. But lost a big hand with a flopped ace with ace king. Then went out not to long after trying to steal, I had jack 10, they had ace 10, I floped j the turned ace. I feel that my luck is beginning to turn a little I was getting to the stage where I couldnt win when infront or even from behind, = not winning at all!

I guess for me to play $50 tourney more regular it is a wee bit outside my bankroll, but I feel that with the better standard of play "well maybe", I could make it more prof in the long run with the less gamble moments that goes on in the smaller games. what u think??

But defo play more 6 max tourneys!!

I really cant win a race at the moment, that my last 4 DS sat on starts I have been head hp with chip lead. Lost first with, 88s vs ace 8, next had kings beat by 10, 5, 3rd I ran aces king into queens and finally I had 6s agains king 2 and lost again. Cant stand them at the moment. Do i keep playin!!

what are your stats, kenny?

you were running at 250% ROI which is pretty hard to maintain, so

I went 12 games without even a sniff of a FT and have had similar runs previous. I still have an ROI of 90% though, so its still worth sticking to

Well I have played 44
won 4 Seats
minor cash, 2
Heads up, 24
Final tables, 12.

I guess my heads up has let me down a bit, from my recored in heads up it, would say that I seem to take a nice lead playing solid, and then I blow it away if it loosing to a flip or gambling. I just cant seem to get it through at the moment on them, with the hands I metioned in earler post that seems to be the standard for me at the moment.

thats an ROI of 80%

you may have a few leaks with HU but not enough to stop you playing these. Still pretty good stats.

Talk to Neil.  He has a 67% win rate heads up on these, according to my stats.  He is awesome at them.
