I would fold, purely because I have no information and I would only be losing 800 instead of potentially losing 6410 total. He is shoving for 20 BB"s so it would be reasonable that he is not shoving light, he is also prob thinking that the only way to get you not calling with a mid pair, to suck out, is by an all in since you are the big stack.

You still have time to suss them out and then clean their chips of them.

I am sure someone will disagree with me and chuck some maths in as to why, I am just saying what I would prob do.

im a nit so would have limp folded  ;D seriously though i would probably make a reluctant fold though in your chip position its obviously a call you can make, as JB says you havent got much invested so your not losing much by folding. If hed open shoved id be calling with TT as a lot of players have a tendancy to do it with smaller pairs and would make a more standard raise with their monsters but the fact youve already raised would probably make me put it down as his range is probably a lot smaller. How active had u been in the last couple of orbits? if you"d been raising a lot then with that sort of table image maybe it could push it more towards a call but you can probably find better spots to keep accumulating chips.

Looks like you are well chipped, so do you gamble for another 6k? You would still be well above average. This guy probs has a massive range, but with no read, you could well be running into 2 over cards and racing so IMO fold.

Call, its a third of your stack and it"s a bit of an overraise, I think he wants to get rid of you without having a tough decision on the flop.
This could mean JJ or QQ, but a raise to 2,500 should give him the info he needs, and I"d probably fold more often to that kind of raise more than the shove.
I"d call and hope he"s doing it with 88,99,AK or AQ which are all possible.
I"m cack though.

Fold, its a third of your stack and a big overraise, he"s up against chip leader so he knows u have the chips to call a raise and put him to the test post flop.
This could mean JJ or QQ and he"s butting heads with a big chip stack so you know he has a genuine hand.
I"d fold and hope he shows KK or AA, which are possible.
I"m cack though.

Ahem.

i call but i hate folding. I don"t think either is terrible though.

i doubt he has AA/KK given standard MTT players at this level wanting to put a stupid minraise in, with your stack i would be inclined to have a pop. It depends on your attitude to variance in tournaments

try putting what you believe is his range into pokerstove and see how you fare against that range.
Looking forward to making my first day 2

im usually folding here as its still very early in the tourney - i reckon i have him beat and reckon he"ll have AK AQ but he could possibly be holding QQ

i cant put him on AA or KK though as id imagine he"d just snooth call pre flop and every bet on the streets to try and (hopefully) extract the most amount of chips witht these hands

I know you need to win flips to win tourneys and its best being chipped up when you take a coin flip. Its interesting to see opinion divided on this. I posted this hand because I have been going through a run in tourneys of being well chipped up (in one case, a massive CL) then slowly blowing my stack on coinflips or by being dominated in other showdowns.

I actually folded this, but in hindsight thought calling would not have been terrible and in another game in exactly the same situation I would call. So not knowing what was really correct I posted it up...and thanks for the responses.

I did say that I had no read on this guy...

Well the next hand he limp called a big raise preflop and then lost nearly all of his stack, getting it in with KT on a T J x flop vs franki001 who had pocket Kings.

This guy looked capable of shoving any small pair "to find out where he was" ;D

Without info on him, folding was probably the correct play. If you had more info on him then maybe you would make the call. You are the big stack and he knows you can take him out......yet this doesn"t bother him ??......and remember, he has no info on you either of course, yet it STILL didn"t bother him.
Oh.....and I agree......Clynd99 is cack !!!

select a 36 d cup and attach to head , check under pants and pray to the poker gods for divine guidance , if no sign is received chant the magic words ""man city stink , man city stink , i need a coffee i wish i was a toffee "" now fold.....
Now go to the next Man City Everton match with bra still attached upon which a chorus of tit head tit head will be heard around the ground....you will now find that the poker gods will speak to you in all future decisions regarding obvious folds...

hope you try this  ;D  please send cam footage  ;D
