St.Thomas's Bush - McHome Game
« on: September 02, 2007, 18:57:09 PM »
Evening all,

I"m having my next home game in Stirling on 15th September and any APAT members in the vicinity are more than welcome to come along. The numbers are about the 20 mark at the moment and there's enough room for 3 tables so a few spare seats are available.

To summarise, you'll have a fabulous evening of poker, alcohol, an avalanche of munchies and cakes, Cuban and Jamaican cigars, a good laugh, that photy of Jobi's line dancing world championships (a brighter pink I've yet to see), loads of money to be won (several hundred usually), Thee Hand of (the Poker) God(ess) Trophy (the usual wsop replica bracelet is doubtful, ebay is a fickle beast), your photo on the internet (probably on some porn site), multi room technical wizardry with the tourney software, cash table and or freezeout side-games once you get your erse kicked in the main event and some decent background music to while away the hours (i-pod's are not required). There's some hi-def ps3 or wii games and a pool table for additional entertainment if you get knocked out of the main event and have to wait a while for the side games to kick off though volunteer dealers get first option on the cakes. We had a professional dealer for the final table last time though she's on holiday at the moment and hasn't confirmed if she will be able to make it this time but hopefully

The main aim of the evening is FUN and there are players of every level from virtual beginners to hardened veterans so no matter how good you are, you'll probably learn something as well. In case you're all thinking, ah ha, easy pickings, think again, there are several APAT medallists and APAT world championship final tablists so it will be slightly harder than sticking up the post office in camberwick green.

For new boys and girls, I'd like to inform you there will be topless waitresses and scantily clad waiters serving tea, coffee, drink and neck massages all night. I'd like to, but as everyone who's been to a Bush knows, I can't cos there won't be (sex sells, everyone else uses it, can't blame a lad for trying)

We're going for a 6pm for 6.30pm start, the main event usually finishes about 1am-ish but the side games/cash tables usually last a bit longer.

The format for the main event is a tenner buy in which gets split into 5 quid for bounties with the main tourney being a 5 quid rebuy until the first break at about 9ish when we'll tackle the hot chuck and more booze for a while, take the pee out of whoever has done something stupid, everyone will snap up the add-on (linda will wait until 5 seconds before the restart) then we play until we get our final table, hopefully about 11.30.
There will be a quick break at that point while we eat the cakes, do the chip counts and set up the final table (first 3 through to the fridge will be required to drag pat away from the area of the cake-age to ensure safe passage for those that follow), get the cash table or freezeouts started on the other table(s) then play the main event final table. 1st person out gets £4.99 back and endlessly slagged.

1500 starting chips, 1500 for a rebuy and 2000 for the add-on. Blinds starting at 10/20 with 20 minute levels all night.  The tournament scoreboard is available in all rooms due to aforementioned technical wizardry so you can keep up to date with the tourney progress (to some extent, hand by hand chip counts not really practical though we do chip counts at every break).

There's plenty beer in the fridge but bring any other alcoholic beverage you fancy. Everyone is encouraged to contribute to the hot munchies or exotic desserts so bring enough of something for a few people to try.

It has been mentioned before about having a non-smoking room so if there is the demand then we may skew the tourney results and stick all the non-smokers on one table. You will have to put up with some smoke at the final table if you make it that far but there is good ventilation so it's not usually a problem.

There's folk from Alloa, Edinburgh, Wishaw, South Queensferry, Cumbernauld and Dunfermline coming so it may be possible to cadge a lift allowing you to get bladdered and lose all your money more effectively.

Anyone interested please pm your email address and I'll add you to the Bush mailing list.

Hope to see a few of you in a couple of weeks,

BushWhacker.
