As a total aside :

The best "numbers game ever"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfa3MHLLSWI&feature=related

Odds for next Countdown host :

Terry Wogan 2/1
Rory Bremner 5/1
Michael Aspel 5/1

Aled Jones 6/1 ... How random!

Britain"s Got Talent - Weird night I would have won a lot on New Bounce - but still a profit in trading vs Ronan who was getting way to short at 1.3 whilst votes being counted ... you fear for insider dealing affecting the odds but yet again the talent show markest polarise!

... and Phil Taylor out ... this is too good ... sitting on plus £800 for the day ... with Webster now 5/1 from 60/1 in the darts ... market"s super thin or could crystalise there too ... Game on.

... further darting joy with Newton 9/4 vs Barny ... gimme gimme ... I think the logic will be to chop the Webster bet down for some profit but may just chop to a £1800 ish freeroll ... nice dilemma to have ... L

Fancy a bit of Federer magic in the tennis today ... 12/5 seems big enough to be worth a punt ...

Outrageous darts weekend continues with a correct score on Wade to win 10-7 ... crazy match ... will take the +£150 and run ...

Semi Final draw :

James Wade vs Mark Webster
Wes Newton vs Dennis Ovens

Loving the draw ... although Wade is favourite ... Wade making hard work of it ... Newton and Ovens on form ... but will they fancy the final vs the more established player??

Ovens 15/2 is absurdly good value for the title ... with a view to trade ...

ARGH!

Webster couldn"t across the line ... and never enough liquidity to lock the profit ... could have taken a few £200 out but happy to let it run ...

Wade has done me before ... great fighting spirit ... but really annoying ... I still get £315 if Ovens wins it ... and the value is there but can I really see it ... not sure I can?

First poker for nearly a month ... kept running into hands ... before re-grouping ... but finally a buy-in lost with the classic 5 outer on the river spiking me ...

Yawning a bit ... maybe Yang will sort me out in the golf ... though I have the field vs Rory ...

... yawn again ... perhaps this blog should become called "bored by variance" ...

Today - damage done by two pairs becoming river flushed ... I managed to hold onto $70 then lost them KK vs AJ to the same player ...

I was pondering the big I-Poker qualifier on Black Belt Poker ... 30 seats for the main event ... not checked out the predicted massive overlay yet ... in days of yore would have been the biggest gimme ... sad in a way that I am looking forward to Monday morning and hammering work ...

Vegas next year? What is the poker dream now?

... friends in Vegas living it up ... a couple of my friends have scored minor cashes in the World Series Events ... but it"s torture to play so many hands and then just lose a race ... hollow ...

It did however tempt me to play a little cash ... one hour later ... race lost ... two pairs crushed on the river by a 4th diamond ... second pair counterfeited soon after ... in the tiniest of tilts I bluffed away $60 ... but decided instead to drain my Betfair account and lump £350 on Nadal for Wimbledon ... GAME OVER ...

... moments later ... email arrives about some DTD Betfair event which sounded quite pleasing although clashes with APAT Scotland ... mmm ... dilemmas ...

Reading my about friends" Vegas exploits I do wonder what end game I want ... I think that the answer is to win something of considerable size and then make a speech about, however you analyse it poker its so full of luck ... that I am now retiring ...

Alt : Win the World Amateur Crown and make a speech about "great bullets dodged and hero plays" ... In a weird way I like version II better ...

Pondering ... I guess I could do both ...

Decent cash for 7th from 282 in the $35k g"tee $54 re-buy on Betfair ... last hand rammed ATo into QQ ... not the greatest match up ... had a chance to call for a likely race a little earlier ... grrr ... mmm ... $154 buy in ... $1,395 return ...

Earlier spewed $122 in the $22 re-buy ... very polar distributions between the two tournaments ... as I would like it ...

Gutted to run out of cards and match ups right at the end ... had led with 67 left ... and pretty much always in the top third since the JJ limp turn into gold ... with a 66 shove ... and a KTs coming for the spin.

Ran pretty good ... patience required at times ... the rest pretty standard ...

Feels like I am in the wrong country today ...

Two of my home game are through to day 2 of the Main Event in Vegas ...

I am on a train to London ... mmm

Next year ...

Decided to take a punt on Gi-Mac for The Open ... 27/1 on Betfair ... though was watching Steve Stricker on Sky last night ... imperious form with the putter ... mmm.

Enjoying my golf betting more than my poker this week ...

Managed to lose a $400 buy in last night playing $2/$4 ... it was a six pack but all the action was heads up ... it would have been a good table to join ... my opponent pretty loose ... but managed to fold pre vs AA, QQ and AK only contributing the small blind.

Big hand 76o into 623 rainbow ... turn 7 ... all the money goes in ... vs 45o ... YES!

It"s just the classic hand.

Really up for playing cash today - but rain has stopped play - torrential rain in London - will make the golf more interesting.
