No poker today ...

... sat on a train and listened to public school boys return from a trip to the Lake District.

You cannot watch two twelve year olds discuss "not a breaking a fifty" without wincing ... really on the edge of being well brought up gentlemen ... but just missing something ... or maybe not ...but who gives their kids fifty pound notes?

Next up were the parents who think it is reasonable to let their kid scream a strange sentence 100 times before telling them to be quiet ...

Meanwhile I re-read The Alchemist ... I like it ... it pricks you into action ... but a necessary pause to play football ...and a random game versus some North London kids (16-18 year olds) ... strangely move civilised than the public school boys on the train ... they beat us 7-6 ... I played badly (going forward) generally well at the back ... I wonder how they viewed the experience ... they were good kids ...

... and now back home via the pub ... some interesting chat ... about beautiful football players ... surely there has to be an end product ... it is not just about the random perfect pass ... when Gasgoigne slays the Scots in 1996 ... he touch is sublime but it only matters because he scores ... I love and hate him for that.

Maybe there are exceptions to the rule ... but overall it is a spike to play FTW ... the nice move finished by the crisp volley ... right?

Smile - it was unbelievable - one saying he wanted some Quavers and the other saying "I"m not breaking a fifty for that" - the other replied that he would give him two twenties and a fiver change ...

It felt a bit like being a train to Hogwarts ...

$80k g"tee ... didn"t even make the first break.

Lost the min when rivered a staight vs a turn made full house.

Lost the Max QQ vs AA (in the blinds)

Ding Ding ...

Next up the $10 +1 re-buy - $60k g"tee - I am starting to feel the $10k (let alone the $100k) win is becoming the holy grail ... up and down ... but no progress ...

RT +$657 plus any winnings from $60k g"tee ...

Nothing doing in the first hour beyond a tedious beat ...

A9 into 9xx ... check - raise ... then called by KQ (obviously hit) ...

Well behing average ... 1284 left ... 324 paid.

... and out in about 690th to a ropey straight draw ... to one of the worst players I have ever found on Poker Stars ...

ITM 3/140 ... oh well ... perhaps this is 4/141 ...

Pretty tough spiral downwards ... see what happens tomorrow.

RT +$610

Played 4 Double Shoot outs ... got nowhere ... cannot win a race ... cannot win a QJ vs JT ...

Looks like a direct buy in to the Warm Up.

Bet on Sri Lanka to win the cricket ... OMG ... 2-2 ...

RT +$353 plus any winnings (from Warm Up and APAT)

Sunday Warm Up paid for ... direct buy in ... bidding for 4 cashes in a row ... not feeling too confident given recent run of cards ... but winning one races could change that ...

Sunday Warm Record.

3 cashes from 5 attempts ... (last 3) ... twice spiked with lower pair ... then killed by underpairs twice ... other time ran 99 vs AA ...

On previous occassion ran KK into AK very early and lost ... cannot recall the first one ... just outside money ... no cards needed to push I think ...

... nice to make 8th in the APAT ... QJs into 66 at the end ... had a lot of cards early on ... survived the dormant spell ...

In the Sunday Warm Up ... I went out with AA ...

$50 lost in the cricket ...

RT +$303

Good night Vienna.

... and it is good morning Manchester and well done to Rob Swindells who scooped $95k in the Sunday Warm Up.

Tedious AA defeat for me ... when near the money ... was ahead of Rob (30 mins) before exit ... but fair to say that Rob really kicked on with two super calls ... and a spot on level of aggression in the later stages.

So the Grail can be achieved ... down to my last pennies of profit ... let"s get it on the Tee for next week!

RT +$278 (Minor Golf Losses)

Perhaps I should just give up ...

AQ into KQQ two spades ... called by 55 ... which hits the runner runner spades ...

So I take 4th of 16 in the £25+5 freeze out at the International Club ... money back ... but feels bad.

Good competition with one big fold earlier ... AA into K52 two hearts ... a mini bet from the last to act became a re-raise when I set to work ... hand looked very ugly from the start when my standard raise was called by 4 players ... could have been a lot worse ... a great chance to lose all my chips ... and I think I did the right thing.

No risks required to my point of elimination ... 2 outs twice and the runner runner nonsense ...

There is a £200 freeze-out tonight ... last time I played I lost AJ v QJ ...

The time before I played here in the smaller comp I lost KK vs KJ ...

I believe there is a message here ... (play tonight!)
