Could be flooded  ;D

I will report back once (if) we make it.

Wedding lasts 4 days ... which is quite weird ...

Day 1 - lost a dance off to a 70? year old - amazing guy.

RT -$1003

I played 4 hands of limit poker (by mistake obviously) and lost $4 ... connection is playable for fun ... and "free" ... but by the time tonight"s APAT starts I will have been up for 17 hours ... could be a bit of a slog.

Sunday and Kenya slightly different from Sunday in Southgate/Cummertrees.

On Safari by 8.30am local time - at the Tsavo East Park which is 90 mins (ish) drive from Mombasa

My 11.30am - spotters list including.

Elephants
Giraffes
Lions
A leopard
Buffalos
Zebra
... something called a Heartbeast ... which was my favourite ... large antelope with a Heart Shaped head.

Lots of other minor beasts to boot ...

Gazelles - very soothing.

We then went to a Masai tribal village which was slightly strange but fun to dance with a Warrior - not sure what they do with the hard cash?

Home to dinner now at out beach hotel - not sure what is on the menu - though pretty much curried out following 4 days of wedding.

The Vegetarian Thali were amazing - but my stomach grows each day!

Fabulous to see and be part of an authentic Kenyan/Indian wedding ... amazingly I was entrusted as one of the carriers of the bride (in a wooden boat - a Dhow) into the wedding "arena".

Brides must have been dropped!

Heavy boat - narrow spaces - recipe for disaster!?

We are staying in Mombasa for another week - but very ready to chill out.

Good luck to those playing tonight.

Doha Airport:

50/50 for standby flight to London.

Kenya a great place - but once Kenya Airways goes on strike - have got involved in a series of coin flips in our bid to get home.

We lost the first to miss connecting flight by about an hour.

We "won" the second Nairobi to Doha - about 5 mins to spare - not quite the last on the plane.

Not too keen on a night in the airport - fingers crossed.

No poker ...

... well I won my Doha coin flip ... so home a mere 25 hours late ... a tie for my worst delay with a Baltimore to Edinburgh trip about 9 years ago.

Weird to come back to football season in play ... plan was to sit with the previews and get some bets on yesterday.

Looking forward to seeing some highlights ... can Arsenal fly the traps?

Golf bet winning sensation.

Yang putting in a tremendous last round versus the Tiger - who couldn"t hole a put - get the demons in his head.

Lost a bit on Spurs vs Liverpool - can live with that.

Liverpool very poor.

Spurs looked pretty solid but I expect with get exposed at the back once King gets injured.

Nice to be up early and in the UK.

Back on the Horse:

Blue Sq : $45k g"tee : $50+5 re-buy. 7.45pm kick off.

First hour - slow and steady - TT even held as an over pair ... wow!

Lost a little on football bets last night ... so -$826 going into the event ...

Good first hour in the $45k g"tee.

One re-buy @ start so 3000 chips turned into 9,790.

10th of 255 : Average 3,976.

Won a little on Jenny Meadows - lost on the hurdles final.

RT -$922 plus any winnings.

Savage Gardens ...

AQ called by KQ ... K on the turn.

Earlier with chips JJ vs KK (short/mid stack)

TT UTG - happy to limp for a raise - 6 runners - gutshot draw - no help - minor chips involved.

Snooze again until Nottingham?

Football bets to the rescue.

R Sivasspor 0-4 Shakhtar Donetsk @ 6/4 ... wow

Lost £20 on 200m without Bolt ... mmm went the wrong way opposing Spearmon ... but with the wrong person.

RT -$714

Big bet on Hearts to lose in Zagreb - 2-0 down at HT ...

Also a Big Bet on ENGLAND to win the cricket ... 3.55 on Betfair is sensational with a pitch that will deteriorate (and the weather looks fine) ... tempting to super lump it ...

Swann to mop them up - after the pace attack softens them ...

Reflecting on poker tournament last night ... felt very like going through the motions ... waiting for scenarios I couldn"t escape ... and then dying to a bad beat ...

Bodes weirdly ... looking forward to Nottingham ... but going to hate it when I lose AK vs AQ ...

D Zagreb 4 Hearts 0

Ding Ding!

Hearts next game home to Rangers - could be a shocking start for the Jambos.

Need to ponder England Vs Australia - I have chopped and changed far too much this series - might still get the bacon!

Could be bacon time!

England start the day at 5/2 and end it at 1/4 (well not quite over!)

Excellent bowling - fair play to the much criticised Broad - a fearsome spell.

Australia"s lack of a spinner looks like a shocking decision.

Weird to be totally out of poker mode - but sports gambling going well.

Ashes match is getting way too weird for me ... what has happened to the pitch ... England just have to win this ... but I am profit taking ...

+£515 on cricket
Looks like -£30 on football bets ...
Discount -£100 poker bets on APAT

+£385 ... or +$616 (currently assuming 1.6)

RT +$84 ... seems like forever since I was level on the year ... ATTACK ATTACK!?!

RT -$25 plus any winnings.

Break 1 of the Betfair $18k g"tee - only146 runners at $100+9

40th of 94 at the break - 18 paid.

Hit JJ into 4J4 early and got well paid - but failed to monopolise when a four diamond gave a higher flush than mine made on the turn ...

Quite a quick and jolly tournament on the whole - should finish by midnight.

Eye"ing up the £100 freezeout at the International club on Thursday - part of a festival - brain warming to it"s poker task ...

Break 2

27th of 47 - 18 paid.

QQ vs AK gets things going
AK vs JJ pegs me back.

Q7 vs 76 (short stack) - lost to two pairs ...

In the balance.

... grrr out in 39th ... river brings a second ten on the board which makes trips over my aces ...

Could have got away with a tiny stack ... but was trying to build the pot to make a proper stack to attack with.

Could have avoided this extra or at least postponed it ... mmm.
